Diesel8 is spot on Stan. The USPS contract awarded to FDX was accomplished through dirty business at best - most likely criminal behavior. Many smaller carriers folded soon after the award resulting in not only job loss but divorces, suicides, etc, etc. I hope FDX never furloughs. However, in these uncertain times at FDX do not discount the human destruction that is possible.

The Fedex postal contract was awarded while Emery was contracted to continue it for years into the future. Snatched is too weak of a word, stolen would be more appropriate; it was filthy. If you don't know this, I'd say you're the one with an odd sense of reality, or perhaps you're too young and didn't know. I was harmed, I was furloughed, along with many others. Ever been furloughed? It stinks.

JD sued the At-less Teamsters for not flying enough open time- was a work action there and I’m sure he’ll find a way to do it again here, if draft ever becomes a thing again on any domestic flying at least.

But don't let those facts get in the way of the opinions of "JustInFacts"

I don't know TC's thoughts, but the words of wisdom you just don't seem to get are probably along the lines of: "I had an opportunity to vote in my interest only for the pension bump, but I knew that this place and those pilots who come after me would be worse off for it. I did the right thing by sacrificing my self-interest and voting against the massive concessions that would have further eroded this airline for its pilots today and tomorrow. I owed this to my profession". (Thank you Tony!)
Stan's words of wisdom and courage: "this TA is garbage, and will suck for those of you left behind. But I am headed out the door soon, so I'll sell it as if it were the best TA imaginable. Just so I can get my pension bump and be gone. I'm ready to fold like a wet blanket and will do my best so everyone else does too".

yeah, clearly you underestimate the greed in our ranks. disputed pairings and open time will fly off the shelves faster than black friday at your corner walmart.

Really? Yep, I'd much rather be unemployed than have a reduced paycheck? "Languish" under 4a2b, not 4a2c. You look at any of whats going on in the airline industry? Hiring is down. You pretty much missed the wave and with the large numbers of 20-30 year olds hired, you'll be junior forever. But go ahead, jump.
4.a.2.c puts the financial burden of overstaffing on the backs of the crew force (instead of the company). Patently stupid. Additionally, you'd think a junior pilot would like to be able to look forward to reaching a seniority level that insulates them from peril eventually but no, not at FedEx. Nobody is ever safe. It's a stupid system and I thought that when I was the bottom guy coming here from a furlough.
Odd that a grumpy old man is a socialist though.
