If you happen to be assigned a DP on Reserve which should be the ONLY way you are flying a DP (or you're an absolute douche), and if you recongize fatigue creeping in, it is the perfect opportunity for a fatigue call - don't waste it. That is the only way those pairings get fixed.

We fly some of the most onerous pairings in the industry, yet have one of the lowest rates of fatigue calls. Why is that? Because for decades we have chosen to power through those pairings to make it happen for a company that had our backs for the most part. But not the new corp. They will bid out our flying to cheaper labor, to legally and efficiently outsource as many of our jobs as they can going forward.

Many guys don't know that they're picking up a DP. Get educated. If you have friends picking them up, do them a favor and tell them why it hurts all of us. If you're on RES and get one assigned, do NOT power through if you feel fatigued. Call it in.

Unfortunately, it is too late. Over 80% of the disputed pairings were picked up in one seat or the other. And there is no excuse for it. There were plenty of messages sent out about the October bid and disputed pairings. People either didn't care, or are not engaged in our fight with the company to improve QOL and our contract. This can't be blamed on those that have been here for decades.

Let me get this straight, you're in the middle of contentious contract negotiations and the company publishes disputed pairings and 80% of them get picked up. The laughing stock of Airline unions😳🤔

Our old MEC, almost unanimously, voted to put out a TA that failed by 57%. We've been the laughing stock for awhile.

So...pilots picking up disputed pairings is PM's fault, too?

Probably same weak asses that are flying DP because it benefits them are the same ones that flew extra during negotiations. Maybe when PM said that was the best he could do, he was right because he did not have any support from the crew force to show he had any leverage.

Now how much leverage does our current MEC, NC have now that we can't even stay away from DP. Can't blame this on the old guard.

A strike vote even at 100% would not mean squat to the company, they know if it came to a strike we would cave in like the weak di.ks we are.

Are we still on this "if we didn't fly extra during COVID" kick? The company won't come to the table with an agreement until it's in their best interest. That's just one of the numerous shortcomings of the RLA. Plans for DRIVE were in motion prior to COVID. They weren't ready in 2021, they aren't ready now.
