Ah, "The You should have know better"m arguement. Whats your excuse? Greed on your part to get higher pay rates at the expense of everyone who gets a pension. Anyone who has been at FX for a long time hardly "rode the wave". Its been a long climb from being under paid to making industry comparable wages while working night hub turns. And you'll be in a spot to retire some day and probably wanting to screw everyone else as you walk out the door.

Typical Stan. You knew FedEx flew at night— don’t complain about it. Right?

“Higher payrates.” You mean, INDUSTRY STANDARD payrates? If that makes me “greedy,”
so be it. That’s my excuse.

And yes, you did. You enjoyed outstanding job stability while others had none. 4a2b blip back in 08’, a drop in the bucket. AA/DL/UA had thousands on furlough at that time.

Ahh got it, but you had to carry the coffee jug out early before you rode sideways to TLH at 3am. Thoughts and prayers.

I love this job. And I love this company. When my time comes I will do my best effort to leave it better than I found it. I want to ensure it stays a top tier job that many still envy.

Reminds me of your posts from less than 10 years ago when you were lamenting about those that retired during the amendable period getting a full retro/signing bonus check. Less money for those of us that are still working you proclaimed. Interesting how perspective changes and you wonder why we are in the predicament...

My experience is the pilots near retirement are very prepared and financially secure. The percentage that are not seems very small. Why would we spend all our negotiating capital on a small fraction of the pilot group? It won't be ratified either way so it's just going to be wasting more time.

Bingo. As much as they want to go remain silent, (oh and go on their NOQ’ing witch-hunts) the SM isn’t really a majority.

Because old guys pay dues as well, and have paid for and earned equal representation. Why should I pay dues to a union that fights against my right to work until age 67?

I agree everyone deserves equal representation. TA1 was tilted too far in favor of retirement. The TA that eventually passes will have to more evenly distributed amongst the pilot group.

Someday, you will retire too.

Retirement has been the can kicked down the road for far too long.

The time to fix it is now.

There is enough money to satisfy all interest groups.

FedEx just needs to accept that the cost of doing business includes paying the pilots with an industry standard contract.

We need to accept nothing less.

Why should I pay dues when only 54 and older at signing get $25 K?

why should I pay dues when only 54 and older at signing get $40K retirement notification bonus?

Did they fight against your right to those benefits?

Part of being in a union is realizing that everyone is in the union! Luckily this blatant ageism was not overtly part of the failed TA1

I’ve got approximately 20yrs till retirement and couldn’t agree more. We deserve better because we’re earned it. That 3.8B pie needs to get a whole lot bigger before I vote yes.
