Maybe for the average healthy male. How about for the average male that's done night hub turns for a couple decades?

UPS does not require US Citizenship (just the legal right to work in the US) and now has the postal contract. That may have been a Fedex requirement because it is not a US Government requirement.

If you did night hub turns for 20 years you screwed up something.

You want to leave your kids money leave them your paid off primary residence. No tax on this. Only taxed on the gains after you are deceased. So buy a big ass expensive house and pay it off. Estate tax max now is $13M.

If you leave them your B fund or 401k they will have manditory minimum distributions and will pay tax on the distributions.

I am a pilot and not a finacial advisor.

You should spend your money on yourself and family and enjoy your time on vacations ect with your family. They will remember it more than the money you left them.

Perhaps he was just generalizing a 20 year period. Entirely possible to have a 15-20 year span where you predominantly fly night hub turns, whether its by choice or "It's all I can hold." I've flown with MANY captains domestically with 15-18+ years and they're just able to scratch some of the day stuff - which, by the way (hate to break it to you) we won't see as much of soon.

*Peanut gallery commenter*: "Well you should try being senior! Or fly the Tool Box!"
Well: Maybe some guys don't want the work lifestyle that enables or motivates alcoholism and bad choices.

The 2-3 percent of the bid pack that has weird double deadheads that avoid hubs entirely don't count for an argument against the above comments.
"Have you tried secondary lines??" Probably. But who actually enjoys waiting until the 34th of every month to learn their schedule!?

I must be completely doing "fly[ing] the Tool Box" wrong.

Nor a master of the English language!

A+ for self awareness, however.

Aren't you the one arguing that scope isn't important?

Scope is very important, good luck getting the company to give in much on it internationally.

CLCCLARNCE you must have been on the spelling bee team or an Airforce Col. Hard to see spelling on the iphone outside in the sun.
