Any reason to stay at FedEx 40s or younger?

Enjoy each day
In many ways I admire the guys who have high spending. They aren't afraid to live their dreams and enjoy the boats, lake houses, airplanes, cars, and other toys. If you end up carking it by 70 at least you enjoyed the fruits of your labour.

Your money, spend it or save it how you want. Don't care. none of my business.
Same goes for how much I or other pilots have saved or not saved for retirement. Our A plan is what we have earned and we have earned an increase. No you are not getting left behind you get the same increase.

That’s the point of all this, the pension is an anchor. Dead weight. It holds us all down, maybe not you 60+, but I’m sorry… you’ve enjoyed the best airline job post 9/11… all growth, lots of movement, and upgrades. The focus now at this airline is quality of life— since it appears to be killing us at a much faster pace than our PAX counterparts, and most importantly job security, to ensure we have a job to go to.
I guarantee you, any TA with a pension improvement will 100% be shot down if it does not include substantial fixes to scope and QOL.
No hard feelings bro, it’s just business. This is my FedEx now.

Hey bro not your FedEx either, Raj and JD have the taser ready to go on you. No scope or QOL in your future. No tears here when you don't get what you think you deserve. Also have fun doing night hubbturns for the rest of your career, which will probably be fairly short.

I will enjoy it. Will also enjoy listening to you cry about scope and a crappy QOL! Ain't Fred's company any more! JD will grind you down just like he did the Atlas pilots.
Will be glad to retire from this crap hole with a..holes like you here.

FDX is FS is Raj is Drive is JD. Please go back and watch the townhall. Who do you think created Tricolor?. Do you believe that FS did not want to jumpstart the program sooner? I think on its head Tricilor is a great idea for the cargo business. I will let you know how it turns out for our career. I have reservations
I calculate you came up in the early days, but we try to make FS into this folklore Robin Hood character. If only he returns, our woes will be solved. This is not true. FS is THE business.

All growth? Lot's of movement and upgrades? I guess you never heard of 4a2b. I guess you never heard of the purple nuggets. I guess you never heard of age 65. These statements show just how out of touch you are and emphasize your "me" attitude.
I guess you haven't been reading the messages from the union or know the seniority and years until retirement for a majority of the MEC.

You are right, that $169K won't have the same spending power, however, neither will the $2+ million you will have to save to equal the $169k for life.

Secondly, I know all about 4a. Excesses. Stagnation. I’ve flown with many of them who also got to sit waiting to train off the 727. Many of who were furloughed from AA/US Air/UA. It could have been a lot worse for them if they stay at those airlines. So I don’t agree with you for a second that they haven’t enjoyed the best 20 years post 9/11.
Finally, I read all the comms from the MEC and NC. Yes, some are old, that’s because we have a block system. But the voting majority is the voice, not the MEC or the NC. Take a look at our age demographics and seniority distribution. ALPA dashboard is a fun tool.
cheers.

How about 9% B fund plus $169K a fund blows away a 18% B fund. Then add in if you got hired that young you could retire at 60 and get the full A fund while the 18% you would need to keep working.
Also all the tax implications when you hit all the IRS caps and the government wants their 37%.
You probably don't even the know what the caps are also how many different ways the A fund can be paid out. Just another big mouth know it all.
