Imagine being at FedEx, about to retire with what is still (barely) the best retirement package in the industry, never been furloughed from
the company, widebody captain for a decade or more, and still thinking you got totally screwed because the junior guys didn’t want to give up their QOL (the QOL that you got to enjoy for decades) and future jobs for a meager 30k pension bump.
what a delusional trip.

Let's be respectful and treat each other as individuals, not IAW a stereotype... young and "old" alike.

Please, for the umpteenth time... not all of us who fit in the demographics you mentioned think as you suggest. With less than 30 days until I'm out the door, I recognize that I was in the minority of my group, but I still voted in keeping with the collective union conscience I was educated with; absolutely, positively, NO!!

And for you guys I promise I won’t vote yes on anything that doesn’t have retro retirement improvement for all who have retired since amendable even though that includes the yes voters.

You don’t get a second shot at TA2.0, if we don’t have a block of senior folks saying “go around let’s do it again” on TA1.0.
And until TA2.0, realize that the 300 retirees with no retirement improvement, since amenable date thru May 29, will grow. It is time for us to become truly industry leading for not a single pilot left behind.
You did not delay an improvement to the retirement plan, our company did. You did not delay “focused negotiations” assuming that an economy will crumble and ALL legacies and major would have bankruptcy styled TAs. They did not and recession hype has not materialized (but if you keep saying it eventually you will be right).
So value what you are worth a bit higher and those to the left and right of you. Let’s GO!

Hello fellow poster
Thanks for chiming in and your contribution, if my message gets across to you I will stop saying “Let’s GO” just for you. I infer that it made you upset.
What is your viewpoint on the matter of not a single pilot left behind?

Guys, we cannot bargain for retro retirement payments for folks who have retired and left the seniority list. They are no longer under the RLA . They are no longer covered under "class and craft."
Everybody that retires before we sign the next contract gets the benefits in the current contract and that's it.

The company has consistently, since 1999, delayed each contract by around 2 years. They did that on purpose. They did that to save money on retro pay. They did it again to save money on retro retirement. It is unconscionable. Unless you want the next contract delayed by 2 years, we must break that cycle by not signing unless we get full retro and full retirement. We are doing it for the future of our negotiations, as well as doing what is fair to the retirees.
ALPA national has come out hard against age 67. Can you say DFR lawsuit? I guarantee, it is coming. While I don't want to work until Age 67, it would allow the guys who must retire a little more time to be included in the new TA, in case people like you win the day.
So, are you in favor of Age 67, or are you a "screw all the old guys" person? If you say retirees don't deserve a retirement bump, then you should be in favor of Age 67. Are you?
