Do you really think they signed a new wet lease contract and then broke it and paid the penalty to break it if it is cheaper to wet lease? They could have wet leased these flights under the current contract as seen during COVID.

Or, they are flights added from the threat of a UPS strike and didn’t get added to lines in the secondary process.

There were UPS strike plans with extra lift in place that were not executed - I know this as fact. The stuff that went into open time is FAR more likely to be core flying that was going to be outsourced.
What is it going to take to convince people that our flying is under threat in a huge way?

Our Union leadership should be very interested in communicating this, and what it means. Instead, we have silence for "a few weeks", right after a monumental vote and step in the RLA process. Absurd.
Regardless, thanks for posting on OT. We really dodged a bullet with Scope on TA1. Really, it was the Scope TA. That was the finishing touch that sunk the concession-laden document and company's wet-lease dream.

If your hunch is correct on this magic rat, this OT dump is a huge deal. This is the kind of information that becomes leverage for our group.

A sentence which will live in infamy.
