The company does not have our best interest at heart. They are beholden to the shareholders, and if a situation could benefit them they will explore it. It's business.
Likewise, we should shore up any holes in our scope, it's business. Opening it up was a mistake that may or may not have grave consequences. I can't vote yes on something that has such a chance to negativity impact my family's life someday.
But even if scope were unchanged, the "industry leading pay rates", signing bonus, and QOL give backs in a non concessionary environment are insulting.

Because NoWork, Stan, jackal etc can't dispute those points. They are regurgitating ALPA's stance, which appears logical and sound on the surface, but did not foresee certain possibilities like the ones TonyC points out. I appreciate TonyC for his deep dive into the realistic scope issues we could face if this TA is voted in.

Nice fear mongering. There's literally never been a better time in aviation history to be furloughed. This isn't like some industry wide downturn where every airline is furloughing. If we furlough, it's because FDX management f#*cked up their post covid business plans. If this TA passes, people will probably leave voluntarily so we won't even have to furlough. You can literally take your pick right now. You want to go to AA, DAL, Southwest, UAL? Maybe you live in an LCC base and want to drive to work? All better choices than sitting at the bottom of a seniority list making min BLG for years and years and years commuting to the worst reserve rules in the industry.

This…..I’d be on the chopping block and would take a furlough over passing this TA. Heck, I could go to a regional get $100k in signing bonuses and make more per hour as a DEC than I do here. I’d rather have a true industry leading contract to come back to than the downward spiral this TA leads to.

It’s total desperation, they don’t like the amount of no votes so their playing the fear card ….. But in the extremely unlikely event of a furlough, AA, UAL, DL SWA will pick up everyone quick. FDX would be very dumb to go down this road. Literally everyone is hiring and not to mention the damage it would to for future hiring here. Let’s remember this is our union doing this to us. That should tell us something.

Word is the MEC knows the TA is likely going to fail and their futures are in jeopardy so they invented the overstaffing/ furlough projections as a Hail Mary to scare pilots into voting yes to their concessionary, “industry leading” TA.

Staffing is corrected by attrition if we pass this, is that right Pat??? And if we vote NO, staffing is corrected by furlough???
You road show salesmen should be ashamed of this unconscionable fear mongering (didn't use that word much before, but Pat has now made it evident, the behavior that word describes, has been at the front of his mind).
What a total disappointment from this group (Tony not included). They are looking out for themselves, and their seniority, that's it.
