System Bid has been posted

The problem that I see (especially since I'm caught up in this part of what's going on) is that I'm willing to leave my over manned seat so the junior folks don't get knocked off. Problem is I'm not junior enough in the seat to get assigned (displaced). So I have to use the seniority of someone (not sure who this "someone" is) JUNIOR to me to make the move. This seems pretty crappy to me. I chose to move at the appropriate time into my current seat, am now willing to move again to keep junior folks on the plane from getting bumped but because I have to use THEIR seniority, NOT my own I can't hold the TO position I want. Meanwhile, folks junior to me (other fleets/bases) who are being assigned (displaced) are using their own seniority (which is lower than mine) to take the seat I'd like to move to. Going forward I now either have to stay in my current seat with even worse seniority due to the junior folks getting assigned off the bottom and hope to get assigned (displaced) myself in the next go round or move to one of the available fleets that don't require all of this to get to (ie aren't overmanned) and possibly be stuck there for years because all of the next bids will look just like this one.

you are correct! This new bid system is substantially better than the bump and flush of yesteryear. we probably are not allowed to say something is better from C2015 though. Imagine the irony of the mass groups getting bumped if not for having this new system bid process. The tears and anger would fill up the AOC 3 times over.

Seniority has and will continue to be bypassed under our current contract. It’s ridiculous and is costing a lot of people $$$$$$$$$$

Not true. Money can’t be lost when someone choose to not bid what they could hold on a previous vacancy bid. Now we don’t have those vacancies. That’s the ups and downs of the industry. If you are claiming money is lost so could the numerous pilots who would get bumped in a bump and flush garbage system like we previously had. Are you claiming we should do an entire re-bid of every seat and base to “truly honor seniority”? Doesn’t work that way at any airline. Good job contract 15’ on fixing this problem.
Our contract is a joke. In no way what so ever should a junior guy be allowed to train ahead of a senior guy without that senior guy getting Pass Over Pay. And yes I POP because SDL is a joke.
Yeah I’ll wait for your explanation.

Easy explanation. An FDA pilot has a time limit imposed by a foreign country that they temporarily resided in. Once the time is hit they must legally leave. If you want that “advantage” then bid an FDA and do the required time per the contract. Not that complex. Are you done crying yet? I bet the crocodile tears are piling up on your keyboard.

Careful what you ask for. If 10 years of MEM RA is what you're looking for, you might just get it. If and when things turn around, there will be people coming in on top of you for a very long time.
