DAL AIP passed 50% +1

You mean a $hit replacement plan for our A plan that the pilots were never asked if they actually wanted - but a select group of ALPA leaders think is great since they read it in a book - that plan??

I hear a lot of cheerleaders on the Delta AIP by a bunch of FedEx pilots who haven’t seen a single word of the agreement. We have only seen a few bullet points and NO language.
I was just informed by a couple DAL bros it only passed the union by a 9-8 vote. So if this agreement is so great, as many on APC and JetFlyers are saying, then why the nail bitter vote by the individuals who have actually seen the details?

From my reading that is false. The IRS says they are completely different than a hybrid plan such as the pancake plan. The formulas are much simpler than a hybrid. Google has a lot of material on the topic as well as the IRS website and PBGC.

The vote count wasn’t the main point. It was to prove that many must have found faults or “concessions”. Whether it was a concession by pulling something off the “ask list” or changing something that some found unacceptable. You can never make everyone happy. Some are always glass half empty types.

I’m going to assume the 8 no votes on the AIP and the 3 no votes on the TA thought the contract didn’t take enough from the corporation. I highly doubt they voted no, so that the negotiating committee went back in and took less money.
