Buyer's remorse??

No one says they are. I’m not talking “surgery” to remove a freckle on your butt, but if you are gonna have surgery with full anasthesia for any fractured bones or some type of reconstructive surgery like a hip replacement for example, I would personally reach out to the Union to get their advice and at least get it on record before listing yourself sick, which you clearly would not be in such a scenario. That’s what I’ve always done. You may be surprised what they tell you. That way you have some recourse if things were to turn nasty. At the end of the day, people need to handle things how they see fit but I would wanna be cautious especially if on probation as people have gotten canned here before for knowingly stretching the truth. You have zero protection when on probation.
If you need to use DSA after running out of sick then an insite is required.
Just because you did it that way does not mean that is the way it has to be done. If you want to contact the company ahead of tine that is your choice but not required.

I’m looking forward, not backwards. You’re right, I am okay with that language because it’s open to our interpretation too. Anyways, we don’t have it and wont have it here at purple.

Of course it will change. At some point the pax folks will have a tough time and start to furlough and Purple will keep chugging along. People will b*tch no matter what. Find your niche here and enjoy your life.

“You’ve only been here a few years and you’re ready to jump ship? Give this place a chance! Let me tell you, I spent a few years at American and that wasn’t even worth my time, I jumped ship!”
I’ve got plenty of friends who are very happy at AA and will retire without a pension, early in their career because they made smart investments with their high DC.
I’m happy FedEx worked for you. Enjoy your pension.

If you're staying at Purple or Brown for just the pension then I hope it's around for you in 25-30 years.

Interesting post comparing someone’s short experience at FedEx to your short experience at AA. Maybe you should’ve given AA more time…I’m sure seniority would’ve helped! I’ve got plenty of friends over there who make good money and will have the ability to retire early thanks to their high DC. It works really well for them.
I was trying to figure out what you meant about "not being able to get over the hypocrisy of my post" in your other post, and then I realized that you thought I purposefully left AA after a short time because I was unhappy, yet am telling someone else to stick it out for awhile longer here at FedEx. As you can see from my first paragraph, that wasn't the case. AA gave me the opportunity to work for someone else by furloughing me, which gave me the chance to realize FedEx was the place for me. I will always appreciate AA hiring me in the first place, though, so I never had doubts about working for a cargo airline.

As far as the OP goes, I'm guessing you're a junior 757 fo? Yep, that would really suck. I've looked at the 757 bidpacks a number of times, and they look quite painful. If you were double deadheading to your home, it might be worth it, though. However, I ask you, if you look at the other airplane bidpack schedules, do you think any of those schedules might be good for you, if you could hold that airplane? It seems to me that FedEx has the worst possible trips in the system, and the best possible trips of any carrier. If you stay junior, upgrade at the earliest opportunity, don't take advantage of trip trading or sick time pickup, it's likely you will be miserable, especially if you're a commuter. But if you look at other aircraft bidpack schedules, do you think they would be better for you? Personally, I found the 757 schedules pretty awful, mostly night hub turns (nope). 777 trips, too long. 767 or MD-11, nice variety of decent trips. Ultimately, I found that the Airbus was good enough and I was too darn lazy to go to training again, but I think I'd probably go to the 767 if I was new here. What do you think of those aircraft schedules? You aren't stuck on one airplane for the rest of your career, you know, there is plenty of variety.

Bruh, is this what retirement is about: hawking APC so as to hand out turds of wisdom. tell me, bus driver, weren’t you a big advocate of the 2015 contract?
quite honestly, you were here at a diff time. things have changed dramatically, thanks to the optimization of our new and improved section 25. remember when they said how doing away with 8/24 wouldn’t affect much? yeah, well, isn’t it funny how seemingly small changes can degrade QOL for roughly 60 percent of the crew force. (rough estimate based on pairings in bid pack).
were you here for the pandemic? did you endure any of that nonsense? if not, whatever you have to say right now rings hollow.
its great you retired at 58. go enjoy your old age.
