A JetBlue A320 Captain will be paid more than a FedEx 777 Captain, and they’ll even get a redeye override. My expectations increase each day we go without an industry leading contract. FUPM! NO CONCESSIONS!

Jamo, just curious, did you get turned down by the military? You seem to have a complex about it.

I never have said we have the best contract. There are also a lot of items in other airline contracts that I don't want to see here. If we are so far behind everyone else in the industry, then why isn't there a mass exodus of guys who have less than 2-3 years here? All of the majors are hiring, so why not go to greener pastures?

To the rest of your post, we did a short contract extension -> didn’t negotiate a new contract. You might want to wait until we have a new one before criticizing our pay rates. Background: UPS gave notice that there would be no meaningful negotiations until well after the teamsters strike and subsequent contracted is signed and ink dried. We could have endured that multi year delay with nothing or a few dollars thrown at us. We chose the latter. Nothing else we could do. Sounds like you guys are starting to get a taste of that. Good luck…

Unfortunately, there are several UPS guys that like to tell us we are doing it wrong here. They say that our contract has the biggest effect on yours, so they have an interest in how ours goes. Isn't your new extension amendable in Sept 2025? That doesn't sound like a short extension to me. If our contract has a big effect on yours, then why isn't it the other way around? Why do some of your guys feel the need to compare our rates to the new Delta AIP and tell us we are behind when you just took a 3 year extension because the company told you that is all you will get and you union leadership passed that on. What would have happened if the Teamsters struck, and you had a strike vote waiting for release from the NMB? Is UPS not capable of negotiating multiple contracts at the same time? I bet multiple labor groups threatening to walk at the same time would have put real pressure on the company. We will never know.

If you don't like Fedex pilots telling you what you should have done, then why do it to us? Why not stick to your own forum instead of trying to tell Fedex pilots what we need.

Even though NB A rates are higher doesn’t mean you will actually make more or have a better quality of life. . Don't take my word for it….. From a pilot at DAL posted yesterday.

As the original poster on this thread I figured I would give an update...I ended up bidding NYC330 and couldn't be happier. Even with the sunset of positive space commuting my quality of life has been great. I can hold ATL now, but I've decided to stick it out in NYC for now. For me the quality of life of WB B, even with the commute, trumps in base NB A. Obviously everyone has a different opinion, but I thought I would share mine for anyone that is interested

They will make more. We're back to min guarantee, they're still flying 90+ hour lines. They also just got some amazing QOL gains in their AIP. Imagine sitting short call from home instead of having to commute to MEM to stare at the ceiling in your crashpad and hope you either get used or released before a stray bullet gets you. They're also going to get 150-200% for revisions, among other things.

They're literally blowing us out of the water like an Iowa class battleship vs 18th century english warship.

I get it, our pay rates are from 2015. We are behind. That is why we are in negotiations. To fix that.

Having high line values is not permanent. We had high line values for almost 3 years when many of them had reduced line values.

Do you know how that 150% or 200% language looks? I don’t because I haven’t seen any language or caveats yet. We also have revision pay. Currently DAL has no revision pay if it falls in the footprint from my understanding told to me by a bud at DAL. Spend some time on the DAL thread. You will see quickly many of their large goals were left behind. Many are not cheerleading like you.

Are you ready to take the DAL contract before any language is released? Are you ready to take the DAL vacation, retirement, PBS, Avg daily guarantee, etc? Contracts aren’t one or a few items. They are looked at and valued in total.

We are in negotiations for a reason…….. Stop just looking at one item or a handful of items. Ask what you want in total. Happy New Year!

Are you referring to the Sun Country poster on that thread that said the following

The new contract is great… work rules and premium makes up for the lower rates.”?

If so, let’s compare our street corner workers to everyone else. Rumor was we had more than a few break 1 mill. I bet numerous went well over 750k. This is why the company slow rolls us. They don’t need to offer more to get most to do more.

How would we know if people left? I mean, how would I check to see if people left so they an accurate count can be tracked?

Its great to have great choices. Their pilots can decide they want more money than QOL at this point in their life by bidding NYNBCA and make as much as our WBCA, or they can decide to QOL over money and bid WBFO and make more than our NBCA.

Thats a testament to their contract that will only get better.
