The old FedEx is gone....

Are we losing lots of good guys? Lowest qualifications in history of Fedex over last 2 years - we pretty much dropped just about every prerequisite. Got some great guys that would have been hired at any time and also got a lot of millennials that likely would still be at their regionals had the tide not turned so quickly. And of course they are very much of the "me too" generation - of course they are God's gift to aviation - you only need to ask them. Many probably should have done a bit of homework before coming here - might have made their ultimate transition easier.
Let's say 97% of them leaving are good guys/gals. There is always that 3% factor of aviation GOATs you're talking about, agreed.

Actually, more than 20. Have been told its about 40 just this year alone, and more to come - better believe it. Several friends, and their classmates all confirming one-sy two-sy, sometimes five-sy from their indoc classes are stepping off the carnival ride.

Thanks CloudSailor. Wishing the best for you all as well.
Unfortunately only the union and company know for sure and they’re not talking. I guarantee it’s way more than 20. I was not the only FDX has-been in my class and our instructors have indicated that we have absolutely not been rare in recent classes and that’s just speaking for one airline.
I don’t know why I’m wasting time responding to such a ridiculously uninformed and out-of-touch post but I can assure you that your opinion is miles from the reality of the situation. Anyways, hope you solve whatever issues are making you so irrationally abrasive about the situation.

Tuck is certainly assisting other people’s decisions to leave this falsehood of a job. Speaking of the union and company not addressing attrition this only compounds the lack of transparency at FDX. This isn’t helping attrition. 2 people in my new hire class are gone. I should have left too.

This plays into the whole narrative. Oh we’re 700 overstaffed. Furloughs coming. Then they’re dumping 1,000 of hours into MD open time after BID windows close. Then ALPA says oh it’s ok the company told us so. This company is so shady. They thrive on the pilots ignorance in believing this is the greatest job in aviation. How do you think Delta ALPA would handle a discovery that jetblue was flying Delta ticketed pax? Cause that’s the same thing as FedEx shipping freight on Kalitta to Honduras with no one knowing. The more people that leave increases the happiness of the company and ALPA.

thanks for this. More than I would’ve thought. But if I didn’t have nearly 7 years here. I’d be gone also. My seniority is gonna stagnant for the next several years. Hopefully in 3 years I don’t wish I had left. Even with almost 7 years the thought to leave is on my mind.

Really sucks to be losing these experienced, fully-trained in our Ops, guys and gals who had come here for a career. All who I have flown with have been great. Sad to see them go.
I can't blame them for leaving after the TA fiasco, and in many cases, after they are stuck in the right seat of the 75 while someone junior gets the WB, for years now. Our CBA is among worst in the industry for system bid/seat movement.
