Isn't it true that if you adjusted your top 2020 pay rate for inflation, it would be $385? Isn't your current top rate $361?

So tell us again why we should listen to you?

Yes, these are public forums. It's just sad to see that some UPS pilots have nothing else going on in their life so they troll the Fedex forums.

Dont know what that is about, but it’s 376, 388, 401 for the next two years, so maybe you should listen a little.

Didn’t you guys also get a pension increase as well? I’m not privy to the inside scoop at UPS, but from what I understand, you guys didn’t have to fight for two years to get that, nor did you make any concessions while creating two separate retirements that the company can use against you in negotiations down the road.

When I made that comment last December I was not imagining the extent to which the company and union were going to let us down with the TA that was presented in the Spring. I also didn’t think our schedules would degrade to the point they have, or that FedEx would bring in one-of-if-not-the-most anti-labor executives in the aeronautical industry as our CFO. Maybe I was being naive, but I just didn’t think it would get to the point that it has. I updated my logbook and filled out my new app the day that TA was published.

It was not part of the plan and it was a big decision. I worked with a lot of great people at FDX and I wish everyone the best. Hope TA 2 knocks it out of the park and everyone gets what they deserve.
Good on ya' Clarence. Blue skies and tailwinds.

We are unfortunately losing lots of good guys to the legacies. Can't say I blame you. This is Not Your Father's FDX.

yes we got defined benefit increases over the last 2 extensions of about 9 or 10 % without giving up anything, and increased the hourly rate from 336 to 401, our eb are incredible leaders .

how many? I keep hearing this “lots” or other end of the spectrum. Less than 20 in the last couple years.

Are we losing lots of good guys? Lowest qualifications in history of Fedex over last 2 years - we pretty much dropped just about every prerequisite. Got some great guys that would have been hired at any time and also got a lot of millennials that likely would still be at their regionals had the tide not turned so quickly. And of course they are very much of the "me too" generation - of course they are God's gift to aviation - you only need to ask them. Many probably should have done a bit of homework before coming here - might have made their ultimate transition easier.

Well sort of - you got one time increases on the current contract. So guys that retire under this CBA get the improvements but there is zero retirement improvements for anyone else. Just the "hope" that it keeps going for them as well. Talk about a huge benefit to the senior guys with zero guarantee for the junior guys.

FYI - The only “anti-alpa” people at IPA are by and large former alpa people. The rest of us have no anti alpa sentiment. In house is simply a better fit for our situation.

We know you Fx guys look down on us IPA folk as dirty cargo dogs, but we ain’t your enemy fellas.
Not quite. Our prior ALPA President was Joe DePete - whose long time girlfriend is....a UPS pilot. Joe was huge for 117 so he pushed it as much as possible. Not necessarily a good deal for Fedex as we already have most of the benefits that 117 offers in our CBA - benefits that we fought for where UPS focused on other things. In fact some of the restrictions would hurt us - would have hurt us immensely during COVID when guys were flying DDH back to back that would never be allowed under 117.

most of the benefits like a 10 hour layover or 117 table B?

oh wait, we don't have those.

Yeah, fair question. I could have been clearer in that I'm speculating that we are losing lots of pilots. I don't have access to the actual numbers. Anyway, I've flown with many on our feeder fleet who are actively pursuing leaving for a legacy, and in my small orbit I personally know a few who have actually left.

By the time it's all said and done due to the TA, change in upper mgt., EUR base closing - it will likely be over 50-60? of our fully-trained pilots who had come here with plans to stay for a career. That's just now. When we hire again, many of those arriving will be here with the short term goal to get experience and move on. We are now becoming (again) a stepping stone airline to the legacies. That's a shame for our airline, culturally, no matter how you look at it.
