2023 Hiring/Basic Indoc

Who dafuq said we were parking 18 MDs? Are we furloughing too? These rumors are out of control in negotiations.

You'll see. Trust me. This has nothing to do with negotiations. It is about our business model changing, ESG and the company trying to give into the Wall Street analysts and share holders. Mark my words. I'll eat them if I'm wrong. But I am not.

They are UNIONIZED. Unlike here where just getting the crew force to pay attention is a chore. I blame our INDOC. 30 minute brief and a brewsky somewhere is not the education new hires need.
With the training SNAFU we're in, the amount of lines being bought up, there's no way we are going to hire soon. We are going to find out April 5th at the Network 2.0 announcement in NYC. We will finally know their plans with Express's air network.

If it’s ugly then they better get ready to hire a lot because the 20% they hired the past few years will be looking else where. It goes both directions.

Well, "Raj" may think differently. Maybe in 1985 under Fred Smith. It appears today's Raj "FedEx" is Express, Ground, and Freight. It also appears "Express" is a thorn in their side, if my negative pessimistic self reads the slide they way I read it
"weakness at Express" could have been worded to say "challenges in the marketplace faced by Express" etc etc

Part of DRIVE will be about shifting express, freight, and ground into one FedEx, deploying “Digital assets” to make this all possible will DRIVE efficiency throughout the entire express network, along with replacing older more expensive aircraft to operate (MD’s) with newer more efficient aircraft (new type), 767 and 777. The remaining MD’s and the ones parked will be available to “flex” the network in the event of increased demand.
