I’m ok with whatever those employees decide. It’s their choice. We get no say on it just like they got no say when the pilots unionized.

This ^

I’d be happy if they unionized and would back them 100% just like the IPA folks at UPS do.

That’s best for all of us I agree.

The problem is, the majority of our pilots support ALPA and ALPA supports the pax carriers. Even with Our guy as ALPA president we’re still an afterthought.

Sure hope so. Seems like unions are the only method that can get some of these work groups to show up to work consistently.

Is it really as bad as the news make it out to be or is this just way overblown? Will hiring slow down or even stop? (Parking planes)

I'm just worried that I'm passing on a seniority number at the legacies while waiting to get my qualifications for FedEx. Or be at the bottom of the seniority list when they stop hiring/growing.

I understand no one can predict the future but I thought an inside view point might be more valuable than what I hear on the news. Thank you in advance!
I don’t believe we’ll have another new hire class for 4-6 months.

Not only this but if the recession is deep enough the new aircraft will be sent to the desert or more aircraft coming up for heavy maintenance are going to be parked.

All of us poolies got an email from pilot hiring saying they are planning BI classes every month starting in February. Know thing can change of course, but I took this as at least a bit of good news.

Well there’s one scheduled to start this Thursday that has an instructor assigned so I’d say you’re definitely wrong about that.

First one in 2023 is scheduled for February 16.

Why do you even comment here? You don’t work at FDX and your entire post history is covid conspiracy theories and chicken-little recession predictions.

Because some people just want to see the world burn. I just hope the distractions and doom and gloom don't lead to bent metal. I've had a lot of FOs recently that wanted to talk about which planes will be parked and when more than what we need to actually do that day. I've been able to successfully steer us back on track but I can tell it's on alot of minds. The Company needs to address this, quickly.
