Definitely a business major.

ha. I guess more of a Union employe not wanting to force someone into something their seniority would be able to avoid…But maybe you could get into management?

Then what is your opinion on mandatory vaccines? Have to avoid these seniority aversions somehow.

I really don’t care. It’s yet to be seen. But it’s clear we want to change this into a vax vs unvax debate. Which I also don’t care about.

Senior guy shoudlnt have to fly it because a jr guy is unvaxxed. The end. Company can’t get enough senior guys to do it that are vaccinated then it doesn’t get done….or do it on an airplane that can do it without siba.

Yes that’s what these pairings they chose are going to come down to. So unless they change something like ok if we don’t get enough volunteers then the 11 will have to fill in (a real solution vs. just complaining and offering no solution and blaming the union).

That’s what it’s coming down to. Or offer a real solution besides just anonymously complaining online like ok let’s say we don’t get enough volunteers then the 11 backfills as opposed to subverting seniority.

Just don’t send the 10 to Canada. Use an 11 and find another destination for the 10.

The solution is to only fly the airplane where vaccinations aren't required.

A pilot makes a PERSONAL decision to not vaccinate, which prevents him/her from flying to certain countries due to regulations. That pilot now wants an entire system built around him/her to still afford him/her the seniority they gave up by making that choice. A quick fix to this is the company saying get vaccinated or get lost. Is that what we want? I don’t.

I really don’t understand why a senior person would be upset about being inverse assigned this SIBA bid to a junior person who did not report their vaccination status to the company when reporting vaccination status was never required. If you are senior and reported your vaccination status to the company then you shouldn’t be complaining when you have to fly to Canada or do trips you might not want to. This is a choice you made and the junior pilot to you did not make. I have lost a lot of pay from not reporting my vaccination status to the company and the union did not help me in any way with the grievance settlement. If you chose the path of reporting your vaccination status, you can’t be upset when you get flying you don’t want even though you are senior.
