My stay at home while getting paid comment specifically applied to Indy, since that's the thread topic. I'd agree that reserves are getting used across the board, and there really is no safe space for stability.

I’m not 100% sure but it seems like extensions are more dependent on geography than fleet. Or you could say it’s fleet dependent if your fleet does Asia flying and the proportion of that flying it does.

As for rapid seniority increase, nothing beats the right seat of the MEM757.

If you are going to Asia on the 11 it's because you are choosing to do so. There is plenty of domestic flying in the bidpack and reserve lines.

This ^^^^ except for those getting tagged off of reserve. There are 44 lines (out of 215 in the MEM 11 CA March bidpack) that touch China. I know because I omitted every one of them. Most of those lines went to people senior to me (I’m roughly 60%) because they ASKED for them.

Involuntary extensions certainly happen everywhere in the world but they definitely seem more common in East Asia. Same goes for lockdowns and general COVID @ss pain. It’s honestly all pretty easy to (mostly) avoid on the 11, if you make the effort.

I'm sorry, I'm still not clear on what you mean by "staying home while getting paid" when it relates to the MD/Bus? Especially out of IND?

I meant Indy DHs & Indy layovers. Being Memphis-based on paper, and living near the #2 CONUS FedEx hub has advantages.

Living in IND but being based in MEM on the Bus could be pretty good after a while. There are quite a few lines with pure IND DDHs and even more with alternating IND layovers.
