Think back to some of the worst guys you ever flew with who have long since retired. You know, the guys whose behavior at the hotels or treatment of staff were abhorrent. Now imagine if they had come along 40 years later and decided to foist their crap on the entire world, representing all of us, via social media. That's where we're at. You used to have to be a douchebag the old-fashioned way, by irritating people one-at-a-time. Now you can do it far more efficiently - and make all of us look bad in the process.

Social media has many pitfalls. The biggest being it allows everyone to be a self described professional on every subject. Add in a pilots type A personality and you have a perfect comedy club setting. All for the public to see. For the majority who just watch (me included) we laugh uncontrollably.
JetFlyers has turned into the laughing stock of our pilot group. The same names constantly pontificating on every subject under the sun. They are experts in every subject. Just ask them. The sad part is they are willing to sign it and own it. If I was management I would run an add campaign against us during negotiations just using stuff posted on JetFlyers and other social media platforms.

Didn’t happen like you say. I know for a fact it was a joke, not a smart one, obviously, but a joke nonetheless. It was actually a photoshopped pay stub someone had sent him some time ago, also as a joke. It was posted in response to a well known Wolf of Wall Street video about 70K paychecks. He took it down after about two minutes as he realized some might not see it as the joke intended. And he was correct, as the meme makers and Instagram haters jumped on it. He made his account private as the Instagram/meme haters were also stealing his other pics for memes. Through his account, he has positively promoted FedEx and the pilot group more than most. Haters gonna hate. Get a grip and worry about more important stuff. 😏

So say a pilot’s 12 day trip extends 10 days… The first 2 days of extension are paid at 150%, the next 8 says are paid at 200%. Throw in there an extra 3.5hr credit for each extra duty period on top of that and those extension days are paying up to 15.5hrs/credit a day… so 8 days averaging say 14hrs= 112hrs+18 (for the first 2 days of the extension) 130hrs all payable on the 15th (plus their 1/2 month BLG say 38). Some guys are conflicting out their whole schedule and drafting/AVA their whole schedule (and having longer extensions) and that is what leads to those massive mid month checks…plus the overages are paid in the month following the end of the trip. So if your trip carries over into the next month than you do not get the paid for those overages until the following month… Any additional overages accrued in the carryover month would then also be added to the totals… Have seen guys that have worked 25-30 days in one long trip… and then take the entire following month off….
