A few good companies out there, but it is your career opportunity at stake. Do you want the acknowledged leader and expert on FedEx or the new guys? They are not bad at all. ECIC is just the best.
And full disclosure I was an ECIC client with multiple Major CJOs and have been a coach there for over 6 years with hundreds of successful FedEx Clients.
Choices.

You’re correct, just indoc, but not fleet training. Union is negotiating for hotels the whole time, but not sure why we are waisting negotiating capital on something that will affect us only once in our career here.

Because Crashpads suck when you are only making $4,000 a month and may even have a family to feed. Agreed it shouldn’t be the top (or even in the top 5) items, but seeing as how every other airline does better in this regard, even the regionals, why not at least try.

Ultimately, hotels or higher year 1 pay is something the company should be asking us for, not the other way around.
We should be asking for hotels for every training event after newhire ITU, as that's something that benefits literally every single one of us.

Check the flyers posted in the coffee break-rooms in AOTC.
Yes.
Historically you needed RST to get through the day 1 stuff, then a company like ECIC, Spitfire, Cage, etc to get through day 2.
I guess now that day 1 is done at home, you just need to prep for a CUT-E type test and then do ECIC, Spitfire, Cage, etc for day 2.

Ummm, please expound on this ^ Do you pay for your own hotels when returning for required training events when not flying the line? How about per diem? Just asking out of curiosity if this is an obligation for your entire career… If so, is it because you are expected to live in base; otherwise, it’s all on you? Hopefully a dumb question but Thx ahead of the answer.

We also have an MD-11 sim in ANC, so the ANC based MD-11 guys have to get themselves up there for CQ and find their own lodging.
We have a great contract in some areas (vacation), but a lousy contract in others.
