FedEx Hiring 2022
#161
Good time for any to be hired anywhere. Interesting ways companies tend to hire folks. Not indicating Purple does any of the shenanigans as they have a much greater pool of experienced applicants to hire from. There are stages when our own outfit hired low PIC or better yet no PIC regional folks to capture them longer on property hence they wouldn’t be picked off quicker by Purple/Brown, etc. Also cheaper not to keep them long term as we lost them more frequently than any of the more senior folks (not talking about contract time/outcome as that was a separate exodus). Also, hire the 50-55+ as they will be cheaper than any younger folks staying on however minimal time they’re with us. We have no dedicated pension, but if we did that would be cheaper as well. With our increased matching etc., it’s probably a figure that has been calculated based on length of time to upgrade/earnings potential and other minor benefits. Now it’s E3 visas or whatever it takes. Not judging just watching how business is being done.

Heck, even at Brown we see at least 5-6 guys in every class coming from the Legacies, don’t know what they are thinking….

agreed, the cargo life can be tough for many. Which is I think part of the reason many may stay in Pax. But leaving a legacy for a cargo has more pros than cons. Of course that’s my opinion others may see it differently.

I found it to be pretty helpful and didn’t regret buying it, but I don’t particularly like doing those things without some idea of what to expect. The CUT-E tests were spot-on for Delta, but not for FDX so I’d be cautious using those to prep.
