Do you mean a federal mandate on private companies or a FedEx mandate only on its pilots? Both issues are in front of courts at the time. So I wouldn’t say it’s clearly coming. Managements might just be waiting to see how those cases turn out before having to make any decisions. On the other hand, they may have no choice before those cases are finalized. Maybe that’s what you mean?
Yes, I think the company is going to be forced to mandate it themselves, due to overseas requirements, long before those cases are hashed out in the courts.

I don't think that is possible. From what I hear the company cannot mandate the shot to just part of the employees. It's a company requirement or not. They already are having problems staffing many of the sort facilities at airports and ground sort facilities. If they mandate the shot, they will lose a bunch of sort facility workers. If they try some of their normal "chess moves" like mandating it for international workers, then that also applies to all international locations, not just pilots. It's a real pickle. They also don't want to pay too much for employees to get the shot as it could cost them a bunch. Now could they spend some of that 5 billion of stock buyback money to solve their problems...probably, but i doubt they will. If they offered a pilot incentive payment for the shot, they might solve some of their issues, but again they won't.

Keep believing what you want, but I’m willing to bet if other countries requires vaccination for crew members, then the company will have no choice but to comply and other employees don’t necessarily have to take it.

And if you’re not vaccinated and can’t fly to a place that requires it, not SUB for you, no good deal for you. Pulled without pay. Period.
So if someone has a medical or religious reason to not get the shot, then F them anyways. As long as you get yours and aren’t inconvenienced with having to travel to certain places.

I had a nasty reaction to the vaccine that lasted about 6 months. Not sure if I’m willing to gamble every 9 months that my body reacts better (or worse) with each shot. Thank god people like you don’t care.

Side note, anyone know why Pfizer wants to seal their vaccine data until 2076? Is it cause it’s full of good news?

Hot crew bus rumor - the company is going to buy out unvaxxed pilots for $2M each.

The company will write the buyout expenses off and it will be cheaper than dealing with labor lawsuits in the state of TN b/c of the state legislatures law regarding private company vax mandates. The buyouts will also prevent many future pilots deaths caused by the deadly unvaxxed pilot sub-group and keep the company’s insurance premiums low.

When the unvaxxed are finally purged, many of the remaining vaxxed pilots will be going to China anyway bc there will immediately be 25% fewer pilots on property and training won’t be able to catch up for some time. The unintended consequences of retirements and buyouts will cascade for quite a while.

The real win here will be for the buyout pilots who don’t have to live through the SLG-style implementation of the pancake plan.

You heard it here first.

Edit - it appears the company may have a problem with that Saturday night fcif. About TN Title 14 passed in November - “The new law took immediate effect when he signed it on November 12, restricting employers’ and businesses’ ability to require proof of COVID-19 vaccination and take adverse actions against employees for refusing to show proof COVID-19 vaccination...If you violate Title 14, you can be sued. Title 14 creates a private right of action, allowing employees and members of the public to sue for injunctive relief, compensatory damages, and attorneys’ fees if they believe they have been injured.”

Not sure how this effects it, but FedEx is incorporated in Delaware, like most large corporations. Lists it right in the first page of the SEC filings.

TN Title 14 – COVID-19

"Private business" means a person, sole proprietorship, corporation, limited liability company, partnership, trust, association, nonprofit organization described in § 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code that is exempt from federal income taxation under § 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 501(a)), or any other legal or non- governmental entity whether formed as a for-profit or not-for-profit entity engaged in business or commerce in this state”

14-2-102. COVID–19 vaccine status.
A private business, governmental entity, school, or LEA shall not compel a person to provide proof of vaccination if the person objects to receiving a COVID-19 vaccine for any reason.

Crew bus follow up- I heard also that they will offer the nonvaxxed-buyout in Bitcoin.
