Our union needs to step up, and they have not.

I understand what you’re saying, however it was done only to motivate those in doubt on taking the vaccine. This situation is different, Country/State Rules and Regulations changes as time go by and the company must adjust accordingly and so should the crew force. This is not a FedEx thing they’re just trying to force on us this is something what could severely impact our operations and is out of the company’s hands. I think the sooner we start adapting to these changes the better, because eventually it might become the norm. Anyone who did not see that coming was being naive. And no I’m not saying just roll over, I saying that’s the way things are so make up your minds to Fly or Flight.

Anything less is unacceptable.
Giving the company your status voluntarily is not going to get us anything.

This vaccine status request is just the latest example. They put it out in an FCIF on a Saturday night. They went to great lengths to word it in such a way that many would misinterpret it as a mandate to disclose instead of the request that it is. They have provided zero feedback regarding how this information is going to be used (although anyone with half a brain can guess how it’ll unfold). All actions committed in bad faith. I don’t want to reward that.

I see reasons why some don't. I do think people need to be careful playing games with it. I had to call in sick for my first two shots and so I went ahead and told a manager when I got them just so I didn't get hassled over the extra sick calls. There's a chance that manager took note of that and reported it to where the company knows regardless of what I check there. People are on here ranting about it and I've been told at several companies now that HR has a way of figuring out who you are on here. I'm not saying people should automatically disclose, but just be careful to be honest. I'd hate to see prisoners taken over this.

An interesting take I heard a couple days ago. Let’s say someone had a close contact on a trip. They said they weren’t vaccinated, even though they really were, to get pad time off vs a vaxed person not requiring quarantine. Maybe some people just don’t want to openly admit to fraud by disclosing their status.

Good points. Regarding the “I didn’t get hassled over the extra sick calls”, is there a number of sick calls that are not hassled over/accepted/the norm? Just honest curiosity. You know, 3-4 a year = meh, 5-9 = hmmmm, 10+ = pink slips are being mailed. Or, Dr slip provided there is no limit? I would think these past 2 years most companies are a little more aware of “the sickness” going around so nothing said.
