Bingo. Starts from the top. I’d say 3/5 CAs I’ve been flying with are on draft or AVA. It’s UNACCEPTABLE now. Leadership starts from the top!
Last contract, the MD FOs held the line (for the most part) and word got out that it was THAT group that had the company over a barrel whereas the WB CAs (for the most part) were bragging about new airplane purchases.
Lead by example and discuss how to handle ourselves in the cockpit. That’s what the 4 stripes are for!

With all the chatter on here, I turned down two draft trips only for them to be accepted by super senior guys who have vacation in December. Last contract negotiations was the same thing.

Same on numerous fleets. Senior bubbas feeding at will. Just watch closed time in each fleet. Even Jr Capt. holding strong but senior guys acting as they have for 25 years. And they wonder why things aren’t different.

Now that we live in "woke world", if you even made a comment to those guys you'd be fired for harassment with the union's concurrence. I'm not sure how we go about policing our own in the current environment. Anyone have legitimate ideas?

Or maybe this indicates that those guys are perfectly happy with the contract. Maybe our best bet is a six year extension with negotiations to follow. Heck, why not eight years?

A conversation can be had with our fellow pilots without using the key words or phrases. Professional conversation. This part has nothing to do with the union. Unions have historically been very successful in defending pilots having these professional conversations. Stop placing blame and lets get unified. Grass roots always prevails like in DC politics.
