Carryover conflict vs vacation
Searched contract, this forum and Insight and I still can’t figure it out (probably because it’s too obvious an answer?).
If I have a trip (Trip A) that carries over into November, and vacation in early November (not in conflict with Trip A), and I bid Trip B in early November that is in conflict with Trip A AND Vacation………does Trip B get dropped because of Trip A (no vacation charged) or does my vacation bank get charged for the drop? i.e. which conflict takes priority?

Anthrax is right...with one caveat. It depends what exactly the conflict is, and what the pay code is for trip A.
Case 1
Trip A and Trip B create a true conflict (i.e. trips touching or overlapping) then Anthrax’s answer is 100% true.
Case 2
Trip A and Trip B create a conflict that is due to an international buffer AND trip A is one that you “did to yourself” (pay code of VOL, DFT, AVA, MUS, MUV, MUD, M/U, SWP), then the international buffer does not apply. FAR legal rest still applies, but if that doesn’t create a conflict then in this case Trip B stays on your calendar until the conflict/input window closes, and you have elected NOT to slide your vacation away from the trip.

You will also need to watch the "footprint". If trip B drops for conflict with Trip A, you do not get paid for trip B, your vacation will still be sitting there if you do not manage it during the conflict window. So you can find yourself needing to makeup CH from the dropped trip that you are not getting paid for, and a vacation ghost footprint that will not let you pick up a trip in that footprint. Just be careful.
Also nearing the end of the year, make sure you don't leave extra pay in the vacation bank that you cannot get back.

UPDATE: Trip B did drop because of Trip A carry-in. Took kwri’s advice and looked at vac ghost footprint. Tried to slide it but was unable to due to the fact I have zero vacation hours left from previous use. So the question is - is there still a vac ghost footprint if you have zero vac hours? And if so, why can’t I slide?

There’s always a high probability that I’m wrong. But just because you have zero vacation left doesn’t mean you can’t slide it. You can use next years vacation. The slide doesn’t show up on your calendar until the conflict window closes.

always best to do a MUV to get at least 1 minute in your vacation bank so you can play

Correct. Gotta have a positive balance - no matter how low. You could have 1 minute and take a 15 day vacation. It’ll debit next year’s bank. Zero or negative balance and no soup for you!
