As one brother to another you're accepting a poor precedent that I truly don't believe is in our interests.

This is the proverbial camels nose getting into the tent. Best believe the rest of the camel will follow behind shortly.
I did not say I support it merely pointing out no distractions. This should have been fixed in the contract.

Like I said I do not believe the company will do anything in our interest and in the end we can listen and vote. It simply cannot be forced upon us. I just find it sort of hyprocritical of some who said the contract was good enough for them to throw stones at the 25 year guys now.

I voted against the LOA contract extension also.

The fools at ALPA National can’t find their a@@ with both hands, letting them control your pension is insanity.

There is a reason “greed”is one of the deadly sins.

ALPA National is the reason most ALPA pilots lost their pensions in the first place.

Who still has a pension?

Worth, Moak, Canoll, Helling, etc.

I think I would be willing to consider an A plan freeze, variable benefit plan and increased B plan.

That is, if it came with a profit sharing deal along the lines of Delta.

If this is that good for the company then maybe it's worth it to them to profit share.

Thanks, Mr. uninformed 32-year Delta captain...

And can up to 100 hours of sim count toward that 1490 or does Endeavor require 1490 of actual flight time?

Any recommendations on training centers for CTP?

Either way, ALPA wouldn't control our new Variable DB plan (if that's what we decide to do) any more than they control our current B-plan.

Did you ever get that ATP finished?

When i was 20.

I'm sure the FedEx pilots will make the right choice. If ALPA National has no control as you say, then it might be a good deal.

I trust them zero.

Jerry Fielding
Delta A330

The ATP questions were for a neighbors son. Just trying to catch up since I got my ATP in 1980.

All the best to you and the FedEx pilots.

We had profit sharing before CB1 in 1998. We gave that up for the B-plan and larger A-plan. Our old A-plan, that was capped at IRS limits at the time, had a COLA which makes me curious what the guys who retired in 1997 are getting now.

The fact that we ratified this last CBA without a maxed out B-fund let's you know the result of this current talk on the A-plan. We will do the stupid thing once again.

There are hopefully many guys 80 and above still alive and kicking, does anybody know one to ask?

COLA to the A fund (added to the list)
Variable plan
Increased B fund
Profit Sharing

That seems like a reasonable list to consider, if we would be saving the company so much. Win/win, my favorite scenario.
