So you weren't aware of the pay rate before you voluntarily went there? At least Spirit isn't going to be shutdown in a couple years. We are all just trying to get out of here at this point.

I wasn't aware that I would make 25k the first year. I thought 38.50 would equate to around 40k like it does at the regionals but it doesn't here. You only make $1000/month for training which last at least 2 months.

I'm trying to warn guys that this place is not a career destination. Please realize if you come here keep your apps out and your logbook up to date. I originally thought it was a career destination but it takes working here to realize its not.

Doing some quick math here, with two months of training pay plus ten at min guarantee, your gross is a couple thousand past $25k. Even with three months of training pay and min guarantee for the rest you're gonna make almost $28k. So....

And Spirits pay has what to do with ASA???? Can we focus on Something else like I don't know...the future of the company or lack there of...or the numerous rumors floating around like a merger with endeavor or that endeavor is taking over A-tech. I mean surely we have enough things to worry about here than picking apart someone's pay at a different airline...

Well look at the brains on BeechedJet... I did drop days almost every month. Wasn't worth the time to commute to fly around 200 pax for the bare fare wage of 38.50. There is a saying around here. The best part of working for Spirit is not working for Spirit. Stayed home a lot first year.

One of my buddies worked his butt off and made 36k! So if that sounds appetizing to you go for it. Ill take the time with family and he got a paltry 10k and lots of overnights in our crummy hotels.

Don't forget to get your own insurance. No insurance for 3 months here. Guy in training came down with a brain tumor, SPIT WINGS fired him and he was without insurance. The pilots pitched in to help out but the company did nothing. He sadly passed away recently.

There's nothing substantive to discuss because it's all rumors and lies. There's a reason why this thread sits dormant for weeks at a time because there just isn't news other that what people like to make up to make themselves feel better. Other than the 200s being parked and LGA opening, there hasn't been one thing worth talking about in over a year.

If you're dropping days and trying to do the least possible, maybe you shouldn't be telling people how little there is to make. That's a bit misleading don't you think?

Sorry for hijacking.. I'm ex-XJT and just wanted to warn guys about Spirit, the MESA of the "majors." ASA/XJT runs a great airline. Too bad the business plan is dependent on the mother ships, which only care about cost, because the operation there is top notch. Never realized how good until I came to Spirit.

I'd say a good amount of new hires make in the 20's. I know several in my new hire class that did. I also know several that worked their butts off and made in the mid 30's. To each their own.

You will find it hard to want to work for this company after how they treat you in new hire. Coming from a great airline to this will be a shocker
