Haha, oh the irony. You call folks leaving for other regionals, "sellouts" while in the same breath ask for others not to judge your own personal situation. lol.

I probably know some of the same people. Thats also what I mean when I say people get lucky and/or made the right choices and connections. I just found the one guy insulting my intelligence came off a little arrogant and ignorant. Believe me, I'm trying my hardest to get the hell out of here. I just don't think it's fair for people to conclude that just because someone is still here and wants out, they're doing something wrong. If that makes sense

Excuse my reading comprehension, but let me see if I can follow.
If you say you don't want to be a sell-out by going to another regional, then when called out for calling people who leave for other regionals sell outs... You say "no, I'm just saying I'd be a sell out"
So if everyone else who left for other regionals are not sell-outs (in your opinion) then why would you be?
You know exactly what you meant when you said that, he called you out and you try to back peddle. Sorry, but you clearly were calling people who go to other regional sell-outs....at least own it. Then you can address the hypocrisy of your request to be respected for your personal decisions.

Really, my retirement from union service was driven by a desire to simplify my life and avoid toxic and stressful conditions. Along with that concept, I'm not going to be commenting here much anymore either. I just don't need all of this in my life anymore. I want to go back to being anonymous.
I may still lurk and read the latest rumors, but it's time for someone else to pick up the accountability torch. Maybe WMU pilot would be a good choice.
Captain Tony, signing off.

No, not really. I actually have been flying the line since January, I just finally decided to make it official. However, I do stand behind my statement which you quoted. Anybody who has spent an hour in that office (and isn't themselves in the take) understands. It's really not a surprise to anyone.

But it's all good, because you already know I'm an a-hole from a certain CP.

To give up 3 weeks vacation, line holder, holidays and weekends off, good QOL, relatively good contract (compared to other regionals), about 400 or more people junior to me; all for precious PIC time (which we know is not as important as it once was), would be a sell out for ME because: I'd have no seniority, no weekends off, no holidays off, no sick time, no vacation time until next year and then only have a week or so, I'm fully vested in my 401k, I'd be on reserve, worse contracts, working at another regional again, contribute to the whipsaw against my own fellow pilots, and the possibility of these airlines not being able to staff all the growth they are taking on and it all blowing up in their faces and royally screwing me over. All for marginally better pay (first year captain pay on reserve assuming PSA street captain, vs 90 hour top of the pay scale here), and some PIC time, for ME is not worth it and a sell out.
So if you don't think that is a sell out, then what would you call it? If it's in someone else's best interest to do that, then go for it. You have to do what's best for you. I don't blame the junior FOs who go elsewhere or anyone who thinks it's in their best interest to leave for another regional. I have even seriously contemplated it. But after taking a few extra seconds to evaluate it, it all became clear to me.
I hope that clears it up for you. If my post still offends you, then that is your problem. I stand by what I said. If you don't like it, then too bad for you.
