But you didn't really refute the statement the other guy made. While I appreciate the efforts of all those who volunteer, I would like to know if this is true?

I think he has two reps confused. The CA rep who has been here 20+ years, to my knowledge, has been back flying for quite some time. The other CA rep has been on full time leave for a while now and is struggling with a similar medical condition.

The real question is why are so many junior CR7 ATL Captains who work about 1 week a month in the ALPA office, being allowed to blow out their entire month by stacking ALPA days (IPB) to hit the min window, skip reserve, and fly 1-2 trips, while pilots 5 or more years senior to them are being forced onto reserve to hit the min reserve numbers? This includes another rep, who is the 700 plug. Total abuse of power, IMO. Back in my rep days, volunteer meant volunteer, not find a way to finagle pay for your time spent in the office. One more glaring example of the corruption of this MEC.

And we let it happen, year in, year out. The apathy of the pilot group when it concerns Union matters is alarming. And those that do try to initiate change are ridiculed, slandered, shouted down, etc.

That right there is the biggest problem, one I constantly face. In fact, very soon, the MEC legions will be here and on facebook to launch their same tired personal attacks at me for even bringing this up. I have served three MECs now at this company over the course of 12 years, and the current one is by far the most corrupt and self serving I have ever seen here or on any ALPA property.

I met about 6 XJT guys at WAI in March, and everybody had great things to say about the company. I'm genuinely surprised by all of the animosity. I haven't heard anybody with anything great to say about any of the regionals, and if Delta and United were breaking down my door, I wouldn't be going this route. But here we are.
