I'm not suggesting it is the norm. I was being "sarcastic"

I don't understand the gripe here. If you're junior at any airline, you get the short end of the stick. I think last June, the future of our airline was clearly in question. Why did you come then? Especially for a ERJ spot regardless of base? Why are guys complaining they didn't get the base or plane they wanted? You're new. Sometimes you don't get what you want. I want to fly the 777 at a major, but I can't walk in there day one and demand I fly the 777, then cry about it when I don't get it. The airline industry is not a career filled with certainty and/or stability. Especially for the junior pilots. Was this not understood before choosing this career and airline?

Very easy to say when you're not junior and aren't feeling the brunt of it.

Um I was furloughed for a year and a half, sat on reserve for almost two years before I held a ****ty junior line, wasn't assigned the base I wanted when I was recalled, kept getting pushed down in IAD when guys senior to me would bid there to hold a line, or when they did the temporary assignments, and am a 7 year FO with no upgrade in sight. It took me about 5 years here before I started seeing improvements in seniority and QOL. So yes, I've felt the brunt of it. This is almost nothing compared to what happened to some mainline guys during all the bankruptcies as well.

Edit: not to mention, I've missed countless holidays, birthdays, and other important and fun events while all this was happening. Which I'm sure will be happening again when I leave here. So believe me I understand

In regards to that letter from DR, that's almost two years old. What resulted in that period is not what happens today. The company is short on hiring on both sides, I don't see a situation like that happening anytime again.

I got a call today! Going to the interview in June. Two different things from the last interview gouges I've read online...they pay for the hotel and there is a simulator evaluation on the same day. Any advices?

Don't die during the interview. Only way you could mess it up.

You don't understand the gripe because there isn't one. If you read the posts that came before mine, it is pretty clear that I was adding my experience to the thread. I was simply stating that I was asked if I would take a CRJ spot and was given the option. I said no because I was hoping for a specific ERJ base. The comment was in relation to an earlier post about people getting the bait and switch once they were hired. There's no crying, I was just giving an update based on my experience (yours may vary.....) Lighten up, Francis

Wow, so they got rid of the Delta computer tests and went back to the sim eval? Good show if they did. I doubted all my abilities as a pilot for not being able to balance a computer ball on a teeter totter for 2 minutes
