No iPads. Efb's have completed testing. Microsoft is scheduled to deliver the first round of them to us in July.

If you've just come to stir the pot with no real input, your presence will be appreciated on the GoJets thread.

Really? What was so bad about stating my opinion that his proposal would lead to massive abuse of reserve CAs and possibly a safety risk? Are only opinions you approve allowed now?

Btw, wmupilot is actually a very good friend of mine in real life, even though we give each other crap here. Maybe you need a pill and a grip...

Past history proves they will abuse it. They will draft captains to the right seat with FOs sitting on reserve. Why? Because they can and know we don't like it. I know FOs are looking for any opportunity to upgrade, but subject yourselves to this is not the answer.

When captains flew right seat in the past we were intentionally overstaffed on captains because it gave the company more flexibility. They could TDY captains only to other bases and have them on call for both seats. There were months you would fly more in the right seat than the left, with FOs sitting around.

It doesn't cost them more to do that if they keep you under 75 hours.

Since I have been at XJT ( 2004 hire, CA since 2006) I have only once as a CA flown in the right seat, and it was actually a few years ago on a 200% redflag pick up. I really don't see the big deal in having CA fly in the right seat as long as you are getting paid CA rates.

I don't consider myself a Chuck Yeager or anything close and I don't feel likes its a safety issue to fly from either seat. But some people do. We all have our own comfort levels though.

As long as you're getting paid as a captain who cares which seat you fly in?

You're talking about a seniority list full of captains that have such a problem with not being in charge they couldn't even muster up the courage to leave the regional level and go be an FO at a major and you don't see why it would be a problem. Can you imagine any of those lifers doing walk arounds in the snow and not whining like girls about it.

My comment was made under the assumption that only the most junior captains would fly right seat.
