Not only did they mismanage, they gave themselves bonuses as well! They destroyed pilot morale even further, tried to cover it up with glossy magazines and "free hot-dog days" and had the gall to blame the pilots for the mess they created. They promised "just give us a year" to turn things around, and they drove it in the ground. Pilots refused to take concessions to reward misManagment.

Two more stories about 30 year captains, yay! Pretty soon they will be doing stories about 15 year FO's.

Skywest inc broke xjt. Then they bought it. It's neither the Skywest nor the xjt pilots' fault. It's all on management.

You'd think these kind of company home page announcements would be a wake up call to new first officers.

The few new hires we are getting are not going to be around very long. There are a few 'older' people in class that were either previous airline or come from military background that won't be here more than a year, if that. Our current new hires are getting extra sims, some double the amount, it's been a struggle.

The bonus the company is offering is a joke and I don't think anyone has taken it at this point. The Co. wants to raise 1st yr pay to attract candidates, but in my opinion won't make much of a difference, and I agree with our MEC, raise pay for everyone on the seniority list and we might go for it.

Honestly, I think mgmt. knows they will have to pay up eventually, they are just dragging it out as long as possible.

I honestly don't think money will solve the problem. We're looking at 10 years upgrades. The money isn't worth it when other are upgrading fast. Especially if others have bonuses and what not too. The only thing that will save us is more flying, and I don't see that happening. So hooray for us!

Qualified new-hire pilots who come to ExpressJet with a CRJ 200/700/900 or ERJ 135/145 type rating. The pilot will receive $3,750 pre-tax within 7-10 days after successful completion the training proficiency check, and will receive an additional $3,750 pre-tax within 7-10 days after successful completion of 12 months of service with ExpressJet.

XJTs lousy attempt to steal pilots from other regionals. Maybe it's a "deal" for pilots who left after COMAIR, FREEDOM, ACA/FlyI, or corporate guys that want to get back in the game but don't mind joining a shrinking company. Maybe it works for them, but I can't wrap my head around why a pilot from any other regional would come to the conclusion that it's worth 7.5 grand + 22k guarantee to sit 12 months reserve at XJT.

oh, and today I counted 5 RJ2s at A-tech with titles removed, presumably awaiting new homes. Ready for the Respect You Deserve?
