ANYTIME airline management says shrinking is good.... It's bad!!! The quotes and sayings in the message is to cover up the fact they have ZERO plan for this company except to wait for the others to fail. That's really not a plan but like throwing a quarter into a wishing well, finding a Genie bottle or determining your future by flipping a heads/tails coin.... See what I did there. Easy isn't it!!!

It's the same crap they feed over at SkyWest. "Keep our performance up, our major partners will recognize us." "Our performance is what sets us apart." Problem is, as you alluded to, they don't care. It's all about cost. There's no way Inc is going to be able to drive down costs enough at SkyWest or ExpressJet to be able to meaningfully bid on new flying against the likes of Mesa, TSA, Compass, etc.. As long as those places can keep hiring, then that's where the flying will go. Sure, you may get little bits and pieces like 7 175 for AS or 15 145 for AA, but nothing substantial that's going to outweigh the downsizing that's set to take place on both sides.
They can do a better job at competing on cost if they would just merge the two airlines. That's why they are consolidating the benefits department for the two airlines, cost savings. But I guess the huge cost savings in merging the two airlines doesn't offset the suppressed wages they get from whipsawing the non-union pilot group with the union side. Thanks for that.

Reps generally only take meetings off, unless they are volunteers as well. Volunteers get days off depending on the need. Certain groups CNC, PWG, and pairing construction know what days off they are going to need ahead of time and they use IPBs to block off those days. Other volunteers take FPL as needed and as directed by the chairmen of their committee.
Most volunteer come in on their days off and don't get paid for it.

How dare you all criticize the hard working members of the LEC/MEC and volunteers that donate THEIR time to YOU for the betterment of your life on the line!
I cannot believe that this pilot group would even think bad about a spineless, greedy, self centered and narcissistic group of people that have continuously sold out this entire group for their own gain!
