I wish.... just a junior Captain ALPA rep padding their schedule!

It is same on both in ATL at the moment. Reserve on 700 is more than two years; a year and few months on 200. But it seems to be endless. QOL is better depending on being a senior reserve or being on the bottom of holding a line. You can make more money if you hold a line. But you work less on reserve(which keeps changing, but usually right at 75 hrs), plus you get the days off you want.

new guy
new guy here about to start training......so if you lived about 1 hour from KATL and you rather have some specific days off rather than making extra money/more flight hours, the best option is the 200 on reserve, right?

I could have held a line in ATL on the 200 back in October. That went away Nov-Feb and it could go either way at this point. I stay on the 700 only because the last 4 of 5 months I've gone over guarantee. Sometimes over 90hrs credit. The trips are better but the block hours hurt. The most block I've done in a month is around 60 on reserve. I'm clawing my way towards 1000hrs 121 time although I have no plans on jumping to another regional.

Correct, if you need specific days off, especially weekends, go with the 200. You'll move up in seniority faster there.

Let's hope we never see perpetual common-qual and whatever relative seniority some of us do enjoy evaporates.

Padding or simply allocating the time to work on union matters?
If you are unhappy with the work they have done, recall them. It has been tried already, but the votes were short. If you ask me, I think it should be public company record of how many hours each ALPA leave individual works at the office. I know they are busy, but people fail to see how much work is actually involved.

Now with that said, surely he must realize how bad this looks, especially since he is an elected rep. I too noticed his schedule immediately, and the IPBs he requested definitely seem excessive. I'd be really angry if I was on reserve and he was holding a line this way. I happen to know he spends most months on reserve, so it seems he did pad his schedule a bit this month. I'm quite sure no pairings are being written on Easter Sunday. Nevertheless, he has the right to explain himself, not be attacked anonymously. And I'm sure he will, when given the opportunity.
As for your concern about "public record" of individuals on ALPA leave, all of that can be viewed by Association members upon request. Have you requested it? You should if you're truly concerned. I think accountability is a good thing, don't you?

He also managed a line in December with a couple four days. I asked him about it on the bus and he said he didn't think his ALPAA credit would get him to the threshold and that he knew it "looked bad." He said he should "probably just bid reserve" so that people don't complain. This month he got a line with naps and their fictitious built In credit values. I don't think the "accident" excuse should be acceptable this time.
