This isn't big news since we have been asked to cover flying (probably Endeavor) due to their staffing problems. Is this is a step in the right direction? I truly hope so but this is nothing to increase staffing or create upgrades. So forgive me if I'm not too thrilled with the slight increase in block hours for a couple of months. I guess this was the "big news" that the CRJ guys were waiting for in December.

If I remember correctly, the union email said it was a 2 year deal. As for the CRJ news, I agree with you that it's to appease the CRJ pilots for the erj announcement. If you look at the Q&A that was released with the erj announcement, you will see questions that asks why is the AA flying using ERJs instead of CRJs, is the CRJ flying for AA changing, and if CRJ pilots will be able to work the ERJ aircraft. They clearly anticipated some consternation on the CRJ side. This CRJ announcement is just part of them trying to calm the masses. Which isn't necessary in my opinion. Everyone knows that the reason it's ERJs as opposed to CRJs is because of what AA is going to Envoy.

Its not a huge deal for a lot of people but considering january-march is typically very light flying its welcome news to anyone that is on the lineholder-rsv border (like myself).

Problem is not everyone knows this especially the senior lifers who have their head buried in the sand. I understand why they did it... my question is why didn't they do it for all the other lines we've been getting over the past year doing pinch-hitting work for Endeavor.

Anybody know why there is an ERJ 175/195 (didn't get a close look) in American paint at the Atech?

That's true. But they didn't do this before because before there wasn't an announcement about ERJs getting aircraft. Management is so paranoid about upsetting the ASA pilots for some reason. Those guys are not dumb. Despite the ignorance of some, they'll understand that this is just business and not management punishing them.

SkyWest has been placing their new aircraft into service in ATL for quite some time now. They ferry it to ATL and it enters revenue service the next day. That's my guess. Why they do this is someone else's. (Shiny carrot?)

SkyWest doesn't fly E-Jets for AA to my knowledge.

No? Between United, Delta, and Alaska, I guess I lost track. All I do know is that all Inc. divisions besides ASA are now growing and too many people at ASA, especially those in positions of authority, are still whistling past the graveyard...

ERJ side definitely isn't growing... Just shrinking slower that's all.

OT question but is a current pilot seniority list published on xjt.com anywhere? I looked but can't find it. Thanks!
