What's the Latest at ASA/Expressjet?

Actually, most jobs that use longevity steps have you start over even if you come over from another company. The point is accurate. Are there exceptions? Yes. Would it be better if we had a national seniority list and uniform contract standards? Yes. Does any of this mental master baiting alter the reality of our current negotiating situation? No.

The carrot is why we are still here. If it wasn't for the promise of a better career I, and most everyone else, would have been gone long ago. I'm trying hard to leave XJT Joe so you can fully engage in the whipsaw you want so badly.

By the way, I don't want to engage in the whipsaw, however it is a reality because not enough regional pilots participated when we actually tried to stop it the past two decades....

What's with you anyway? You make assumptions about others and you "swung and missed". Get off your damn high horse already. If this is what you are doing in our negotiations, maybe it is time that we look at people who are more reasonable at the table negotiating for us. Just for your information, yes I'm on the ASA side.

I did not realize Capt Tony is on ASA's negotiating committee? If so, ASA guys ya'll need to remove him from that position asap. The last thing he should be doing is coming on here and destroying all unity between the groups.

Oh, please... that's horsesh*t and you know it. You step down and there will be 10 lined up to take your place without you even asking. But we all know you don't get to be in a position like you without being buddy-buddy with someone.

Yes I did. Most did back then. Not only did you pay for the job, there wasn't much of a bump after the first year. I made about 25K as a fifth year ATR FO. No reserve rules to speak of. Reserve was considered rest if you weren't flying. You could literally be called to do a nap after being on reserve for 16 hours. No cancellation pay. No rigs. No JM/Reschedule premium. Very little 401k matching. No jumpseat....Shall I go on?
We fixed a lot of that in contract 98 and yes we negotiated partial reimbursement because that polled heavy after the first TA was shot down.
Any other axes to grind?

I have no problem stepping up to the plate and doing my "service." What I do know is that there are qualified people to handle the negotiations in our group that is probably better than me.
