In the second half of 2014, SkyWest expects 56 of its unprofitable 50-seat aircraft contracts will naturally expire and the aircraft will be returned to lessors. SkyWest also expects an additional 101 unprofitable 50-seat aircraft contracts will naturally expire and be removed from service by December 31, 2015.

My guess is that the majority of it belongs to United Express and about 20 or so will be Delta Connection.

Thank you for posting, was just about to post as well. The last question that was asked on the call asked if the E-175 was going to come to both SKYW and XJT and if pilots would be able to go between the two certificates etc or if it was all "bollocked up" with union rules. (We know the answer to this).

They said that the E 175 will come to SKYW and SKYW alone and that pilots will not be able to "transfer to the E175" and that they will try to bring the XJT airplanes offline in pace with attrition to "minimize the affect to our people." It's simple math, but I doubt that attrition can keep pace with the reduction of the ERJ fleet, I hope it does, but that is a lot of aircraft. Time for just about every FO on either side to get out ASAP as upgrading on either side, especially the ERJ side will not be occurring.

The only saving grace is if somehow E 175s are placed on the XJT side to replace the 145 or if RFPs with Delta are extended to reduce the amount of CRJ's leaving. It's pretty clear that either side has no reason to move forward with this merger based on the fleet reduction news alone.

If the contracts expire would INC have to rebid and win the flying from United?
How does the business side work if XJT is parking Erjs and SKW airlines is covering the routes without a RFP?

Specific to the already awarded 175s I believe.

Exactly, also I bet they will place some EJETS at L-XJT to preserve the whipsaw game into the future.

Perhaps, however the more realistic and probable scenario is that they park E145s as planned, furlough L-XJT pilots and offer interviews to said pilots to help staff the E 175. This accelerates the wind down of XJT, and provides competent and trained pilots to SKYW at first year pay, not to mention it reduces ALPAs presence.

Putting E175s on the L-ASA side only further inflames tensions between both sides and in the end will cost SKYW more money. I hope that neither option happens, but one must be realistic after all this time.

That's a lot of planes to be parked in such a short time frame. That amount of capacity loss goes where? Can anybody help me out here and answer this question, plz.

Embraer can't build them that fast.
