Specifically what do you mean by "seriously ready to negotiate"?

If current book is too expensive then I hope they aren't negotiating seriously! They may as well keep parking all the aircraft like they are already planning on.

By the way, still ignoring the question.

I looked this up a did a little light reading. As I am not a lawyer or business savy, I don't really fully understand. What it seems to me though is that the holding company that owned Mesaba didn't go bankrupt, just the Mesaba portion. However, in INCs case, wouldn't declaring ExpressJet bankrupt expose too much? I would have to think that Skywest Airlines would also be considered bankrupt. Maybe not Inc its self, but if all of our money, buisness decisions, aircraft etc come from Skywest Inc and ExpressJet has no real money or does not make business deals of its own, how can it be declared bankrupt without taking too much risk to Inc or Skywest airlines? Can you elaborate?

In Mesaba's case, didn't Mesaba's Holdings chapter 7/liquidate Big Sky before Chapter 11 with Mesaba?

There's nothing to negoitiate. The company was planning on pulling the plug anyway. You guys just can't get over it! Mesa and Skywest have the orders. Training in progress. It's over. Done. Get on with your lives.

XJT parked a new Embraer in Atlanta for a reason. And you guys fell for it.

SkyWest Airlines is a subsidiary of SkyWest Inc. just like we are. In the Mesaba bankruptcy, MAIR bankrupted Mesaba, but left the holding company and Big Sky airlines solvent (Big Sky was later liquidated). SKYW, INC could do the same, bankrupting ExpressJet and leaving SKYW and SkyWest Airlines solvent.

Understand. That's like me not wanting to pay my credit cards, but pay everything else, and then claim I'm bankrupt only to my credit card portion of my debt and have everything else remain untouched. It doesn't make sense, nor seems eithical to allow a buisness to get away with things like that. God knows an individual couldn't But hey, if thats the law, then so be it. Love America!
