See if there is a Zipcar close by. They are only like $7/hr

Not a rumor. They are parking all the ERJs as they said they were before we voted NO. All the replacement aircraft going to Skywest instead. Yawn...

Hiring has not stopped. Management is offering voluntary furloughs in the training department as the hiring/upgrade machine spools down due to the parking of aircraft as the year progresses. This is nothing we didn't know about - We knew we were losing aircraft at the end of the year and that hiring would slow down. So, it's slowing down, not stopping. That's the official word for now. That's not to say the writing isn't on the wall for this place though. It's definitely been there for a while. Not to mention this thread reeks of the Comair thread that ran about 3,000 pages before the company finally shut it's doors. Anybody else notice that?

OH WOW!!!! Thank you SOOO much for explaining that for me. Thanks a lot Richard!
I'm honestly curious what is that that compels you to conduct yourself in such a manner?

Quite a few similarities no? And voluntary furlough?? Are these guys going back to the line... I think that at this point any furlough means straight up unemployment.

You're wrong, sorry. It means they are simply being offered the opportunity to go back to the line until hiring spools up again. In the grand scheme it could mean many things. I remember once hiring slowed down in 2012 the TC furloughed, even line pilots were offered LOAs and guess what - The sky was falling and everyone was losing their jobs....Everyone kept their jobs and at the end of the day everyone was fine.

We've known we were going to lose these airplanes for a long time and quite frankly we were never properly staffed for the 135's to begin with. Attrition is high as is and will only accelerate in the months to come. We'll see what happens. Although the writing is on the wall, anything could happen...It just doesn't look good right now.
