What's the Latest at ASA/Expressjet?

For those of you who think CPAs can't be terminated you may have forgotton about this. The bottom line is If you don't own the flying you are at risk.

In any case, all I am saying is we should stop the "my regional is better than yours" arguments and work together toward stopping the whipsaw (just like we worked together to vote down the POS TA)!

That is the most accurate analogy of Expressjet service and reliability I have ever seen.
Have had several trips with deadheads on Expressjet lately. If it isn't the most unreliable form of air travel with the least interested employees in the industry they are at the front of the pack. I am out on a four day trip and I can deal with the shenanigans of express jet. It is just the poor passengers that bought tickets with the idea they were going to get from point A to point B that I feel for. What an embarrassment.
I certainly hope UA can relieve themselves of the service of Expressjet, sooner rather than later.

My prediction is that since L-XJT has refused to negotiate, SKYW Inc. will go ahead and submit a bid for the AA flying. All of the RFPs are bid by Inc. anyhow (not the individual airlines), and Inc. decides who will fly those CPAs. They will plan to operate the flights with SkyWest Airlines, as they gradually transition out of UAL and DAL flying. L-XJT will continue to park airplanes, and UAL will shift that flying to larger airplanes flown by someone else. L-ASA will continue to shrink under its a/c retirement schedule with DAL. In about 3 years, L-XJT won't exist anymore, L-ASA will be half its size, and they will merge L-ASA with SkyWest.

L-XJT will still exist in 3 years... Many of the UA CPAs don't expire before 2020.... Who cares that UA is unhappy? When you cook a meal with expired ingredients (because they were cheaper), later don't complain that you have a diarrhea!!

Also, Inc. is not interested in ridding itself of flying for Delta or United so whoever cast this scenario is mistaken. They don't have all those aircraft on order/options for no reason and they aren't all for AA. In fact, none of them are at this time. They will continue to be the largest regional carrier for DL/UA for many years to come. That's what their business model is predicated on. market share.
