Regardless of who negotiated what... y'all do NOT make money. It's as simple as that, and weren't making money prior to being purchased.

It's nice to see RJ guys and gals finally take a stand, it's just too bad it took rock bottom to get there. Any RJ pilot that downplays the current movement or takes pride in their current work is just a pawn in the game, and thankfully the minority. We can pity them, and they'll ride the coat tails of those who fight and sacrifice for fair wages for all, but they will never be respected.

Some people will succeed in this industry, some will burn, and many can't control their own circumstances. But we all have absolute power over the decisions we make. You can be a leader, a follower, or a parasite. Frankly I don't care what you do, but you just might regret it one day when you don't succeed and look back at a career knowing you did nothing to help the pilots around you, either.
Right, so we at SkyWest should take a stand just so all the other pilots feel better about us and themselves? Sure we have some problems over here at OO but they sure aren't as drastic as those at other carriers. No need for us to **** off management just so we can get a pat on the back from the guys at ExpressJet who know their days are numbered. Everyone has a choice where they work/fly and quite honestly if they don't like where they are then they can always get another job and stop telling me I should screw up a good thing over here at SkyWest just to make a point.

And this is why this whole thing is probably going to fail. People only ever worry about themself.

air101 is the example of why some people don't like certain other people at SkyWest. I understand that there are good people and not so good anywhere. Maybe it's just me, but it seems there is an attitude over there that they are superior and on their own level compared to other regionals. Guess what? You're not. Even though we're all one big family, at the end of the day the SkyWest guys in general seem to only care about themselves it seems like.

Wrong.

Go look at some 10K reports.

ASA was making money for Delta hand over fist. It was SkyWest who bought ASA and negotiated a loss making CPA. The only reason ASA was sold is Delta couldn't unload Comair and they needed to sell an asset to finance their bankruptcy.

XJT was making money hand over fist before SkyWest attempted a hostile takeover in 2008 and started a bidding war, leading to a loss making CPA with CAL, followed by an acquisition and yet another loss making CPA.

You can hate us all you want, but it's your precious SkyWest that has wrecked two perfectly respectable and profitable regional airlines and mismanaged them into this cluster we have now.

Why do you have such animosity against us, by the way? It's not any pilot's fault we are losing money. Also, you guys stand to make some pretty nice benefit increases if our JCBA is ever finished, so you should be supporting us instead of slinging mud at us. Not to mention if we become profitable again, it makes SkyWest Airlines all the more stronger.

Go a little further back in history to 2008 when SkyWest attempted a hostile takeover of ExpressJet. SkyWest ran that airline into the ground and waited two years to pick them up at a bargain price.

Pure genius from a management standpoint.
Pure hell for everyone else who didn't get to line their pockets from the deal.

What is chip sending all you clowns to troll our forum now? Go away coat tail rider no one cares what you and your LDS buddies think.

Seriously people. Look at these trolls with less than 20 posts trying to lower our expectations. Management is scared. All the other big regionals stood firmly with us and now their whipsaw plan has collapsed. So their obvious response is to unleash their trolls on us. Stand strong brothers and sisters, this is our time.

Haha. Some new hire, new to the industry kid has everybody wound tighter than a trebuchet spring. This "air101" kid is a proud Skywest FO who has the "first officer creed" in his hat. I'm darn proud of all of you for taking a stand! And pi55 on Skywest!!
