What I don't understand is why isn't that a viable option for 7/8 year FO knowing that if another place has "guaranteed" an upgrade in less than 2 years? I don't know if upgrade in another 2 years here at XJT is even possible.

No such thing as "guaranteed" upgrade...

Hence why it was in quotes since Trip was pretty much suggesting that a couple of pages back when he said:

"Those hired today at those Airlines will be Captains in 2 years or less making 70k+ while someone hired the same time at XJT will be making 35k slinging gear for the foreseeable future."

Nothing in life is guaranteed, especially not upgrade. Heck, you have to pass the checkride and Fed ride. Also, No comparison can be made with our generation. We went thru unprecedented stagnation due to age 65. Highly unlikely to happen again.

What a new pilot to the 121 world can do, is stack the odds in their favor for quick advancement. Going to one of the smaller, growing regionals will do that.

Probably the transition away from 3-man cockpits produced a lot of stagnation, too. But I agree, looking ahead things seem like they'll stay moving.

Well, compass and Mesa are mainly hiring 121 guys leaving for that shiny 175 and the quick upgrade...

Like you said, mainly, not solely hiring 121 guys. One of my friends just started class at Compass with no previous 121 time. Where there is a will there is a way....

EWR is by far the most junior base on the ERJ side. About 2-3 months to hold a relief line...

Heard some guys interview at ExpressJet in ATL and others in IAH. What's the difference between the two? The interview gouges don't describe where they interview at. Can anyone shed some light on the IAH interview? Thanks.
