A pinnacle yes voter lecturing ASA/XJT pilots about why we should vote no? I'm sorry, but you are partially to blame for the current pressure being applied to us. Our TA is far superior to your contract and will still be at the top if it voted in.

No I don't know his name. He is right though. The XJT TA is by far the best TA negotiated in this concessionary environment and passing it will help reset the pattern.

I think he was actually being pretty humble, as in saying "Hey guys we screwed up and only now realize it... don't make the same short-sided mistake that we did.", and then you bash him for it?

That really isn't a benchmark anymore, especially when thousands of stagnant regional captains have many thousands of TPIC hours.

OIC, thanks. Basically your differential pay depending on which plane the segment was flown with?

Since this seems to be "the" Expressjet thread I guess I'll ask my question here. Let me start by saying that I've never flown for an airline, so I am unfamiliar with the processes. That being said, How does the pass system work for XJT? Are the passes limited to XJT only? Or are there agreements with the majors? Obviously XJT doesn't fly overseas, so are there pass privileges with airlines like UAL and DAL? Or would I have to buy ID90s or something like that?

Thanks in advance for the answers!

Love,
The Jerk

Right now it depends on which plane you're assigned to: everyone on the CRJ gets Delta and United privileges and I think DFW based pilots also get American. I'm not 100% sure, but I think ERJ pilots only get United. You can jumpseat on anybody that'll let you on and use ZED/ID 90 for overseas to overseas, but the options are pretty limited.

So you're saying that UAL, DAL and in some cases AAL offer XJT actual passes for travel?

Of course, but at a lower boarding priority than other employees of those airlines. This is standard throughout the industry for all regionals. If you fly express operations for a major carrier you get full, unlimited pass privileges on them but at a lower priority...but also realize that being at a lower priority (just ahead of buddy pass/id 90 riders) means you probably won't get on an oversold flight too often.

On the ERJ we only get UAL non-rev benefits. This includes spouses, sons, daughters, and the pilot's mother and father. You can also enrol one friend (two if you don't have a spouse or domestic partner). We do not get vacation passes. All non-rev travel is on a standby basis (SA0X on our own aircraft, SA2X on other Express carriers and SA5X on mainline). Internationally you pay departure taxes. You can pay $12.50 for domestic business and $89.10 for international business, but beware you are very unlikely to get it domestically, and you will have to pick your international flights very wisely to get business internationally.

We also have ID90s/ZEDs on a lot of major airlines, AA, US Airways, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Lufthansa, KLM, Iberia, TAM, Qantas...just to name a few.

Of course we are also in CASS, so you can jumpseat on pretty much every US airline.
