The company has not even determined the need for new hires regarding the new duty rules out in January.
ERJ is losing 25 a month to attrition, combined with being short reserves.
CRJ is short now, but losing 19+ 200's by end of year.
So if that doesn't scream hiring at the last minute, I don't know what does..

hiring for XJT (whether ERJ or CRJ) will not stop for several years IMHO. There's always the chance they find flying for those 19 CRJs leaving "at the last minute"
either way we will not be properly staffed for the new rest regs.

I can't speak for the CRJ side, but the ERJ side has been losing about 25 a month for the last 4 months. Company has planned 2 classes a month on the ERJ side for the remainder of the year, and my guess is that hiring will continue due to FT/DT going into effect as well as increased attrition due to hiring ramping up at the Legacies.
My advice to anyone thinking about coming here is that you shouldn't worry about getting the CRJ or ERJ side. After the merger is complete it won't make a difference, and by waiting you're only passing up seniority.

Guess 1: 737-200s? all first class? (ya know, so it'll be under 76 seats or whatever)
Guess 2: DTW closing, LGA and MSP opening
Guess 3: TA has been reached, road shows in November, voting in December and Oh, we're keeping 17 of the 19 CR2s along with 30 E170 starting in 2017.
