You guys need to figure something else out quick and get a contract done already! Everyone else is setting themselves up yet XJT can't decide on pbs and is severly behind the power curve. Slywest can only do so much to keep you guys a float. Good luck I really wish you guys the best.
Do you believe we should take concessions? That's the only way we will get a contract done quick. By the way, PBS has already been decided.

Absolutely not. Unfortunately I think the PBS thing is too little too late. If you guys actually got stuff done in a timely fashion you would have had more leverage to say no to concessions at this point because you would be 1 big airline, but the fighting and lack of jcba has made you guys a vulnerable target. It's going to be tough

How is it still too late to say no to concessions? As long as the majority from both sides can stand together in unison against concessions, I think we have the leverage.

If they would have done things on a timely matter they would still be where they are today, actually they would have a worse contract being asked for concessions. If you don't believe me go look at everyone who has gotten a contract in the last few years.

Pinnacle-concessions
Eagle-Concessions, being asked for more
PSA-Average contract, being asked for concessions
PDT, Average contract, by the end of August will be discussing concessions
RAH-bad contract, being told they are too expensive
Compass, average contract, i believe they are in mediation/arbitration
AirWisky, Good contract, being told they are too expensive and will likely hear form Airways next year
SKW, Good contract, being told they have to work with management as they underbid for contracts in this Pinnacle era.

The vast majority of regionals are being asked for concessions.

Can't be 1 big airline until there is a JCBA, which means a vote and then SLI...

On one hand, pilot compensation is a small part of the equation and not enough to make or break the company, but on the other, management is gonna shut us down because pilot longevity is too high? I know anything is possible, but that doesn't make sense to me. ExpressJet's situation is much different than Comair's. I'm not willing to take concessions and I don't think we're gonna get shutdown either way.

Per management standards Eagle, EXJ, SKW, AirWisky and RAH have longevity problems, hmm that's over 80% of the feed. This whole Pinnacle ear is BS, Pinnacle operates less than 200 airplanes, the rest of the regionals are close 1,500. So we must take pay cuts to match 20% of the industry... People need to wake up and stop drinking the cool aid.

What I'm saying is that if we would've gotten stuff done in a timely manner, it would mean that we would have a concessionary contract. Management doesn't agree time pay raises and better work rules in a timely manner. Right now, we have just as much leverage to say no to concessions that at any other time they decide to suggest concessions.

Default Furlough ME!!!

One more check box at a bunch of airlines... If "my" union comes back to me with excuses and buy-back, my answer is "bite my shiny metal a@@".

We have seen every stage of our careers degrade over the last decade, whilst listening to our ALPA reps make excuses for management. We have a few that are standing strong, but the majority know that they are more likely to get cushy mainline office jobs if they can convince us to swallow without choking. I am done! At the bottom of yet another regional ALPA list, and more than happy to be furloughed, as the benefits far out weigh quitting, and I am more likely to get a sit-down at a major's interview table. What we all need to remember is that for the F/Os who are the ones to get furloughed, it is really not that scary, since it just means getting to be with your kids every night, while working a minimum wage job that pays as much or more, with overtime. The lifers and the captains have something to lose, but we don't, and our new contract is likely to affect us for far longer than it will affect the senior folks. If Spirit, as an ULCC can pay what it does with the lifestyle it affords, "sure"ly our management team can find a way to make us profitable.

Full pay (and no lifestyle concessions) until the last day!

And for all of the different threads mentioning our ridiculously overstaffed management... +infinity!
