They are trying to be too greedy and going for the double whammy. Flows and concession pay for the lifers and whoever they keep. If not, then just concessions.
I'll burn this place down before concessions.

If they want costs down and are too senior, why not set up a flow. I'm sure plenty of guys are itching to get out. Same logistics apply to compass. Low seniority equals low pay.

Management is asking for these concessions because they know its a poison pill that will never pass muster. They want us to shoot it down and begin the graveyard spiral. and if by some miracle it passes, they will be back for more next year. Comair was mentioned because it is the template for this process of seniority elimination. It will happen here, mark my words. In a situation like this, our best course of action is to let it run its course and take max pay to the last day. But unfortunately, I expect our union (run by that top 30%) to swallow the hook in hope of avoiding this demise. Which of course Comair proved is impossible.

Why is everyone talking about flows nowadays? Delta has no interest in flows since their new children don't even have one. United doesn't have any and AA only does for their wholly owned. Flows won't happen anymore and I really doubt Delta cares about XJT at this point since there are plenty of other carriers who are cheaper at this point to do the lift. You guys need to figure something else out quick and get a contract done already! Everyone else is setting themselves up yet XJT can't decide on pbs and is severly behind the power curve. Slywest can only do so much to keep you guys a float. Good luck I really wish you guys the best.

Not to point fingers because they both signed it, however the majority of the XJT MEC never had plans of retiring at XJT. The ASA MEC on the other hand (The impression I got) was they had a higher % of "lifers". It's just an observation on my part and I guess it doesn't mean all that much, but just something to think about

I honestly believe management's intention is to shut this place down. There is no way they will ever get rid of the top 30% or so, even with a flow through. These same guys endure the -200 just to preserve their seniority instead of bidding ATL -700. There is no way they are going to flow to mainline and "start over".

Obviously the FOs don't take much from the pie, but management would rather see 3 year FO upgrading versus 7 years. Combine that with concessions, and management is giving JA an improvement of what he is looking for.
Honestly, the ASA side doesn't have much of a chance for a delta flow. However, the xjt side could possibly considering they are the largest united supplier.

Unfortunately, greed seems to be deep rooted in management/administration in most industries including aviation. They have no qualms of taking raises while providing nothing in return to the employees who are the backbone of the company.
Anyway, if the top 30% vote yes for a TA with concessions, I am hoping that the other 70% will be able to vote it down. The conessions will not only affect the pilots' at the company but also the rest of the industry as well as those that will come after us.
If the plan for Inc is to shut us down, I welcome it and will not give up on the meager pay we already make. I also hope that the top 30% realize if shut down is what is in the future, a lot of them won't be holding that Captain slot and might be pushed back to the right seat. Alas, I guess it is all wishful thinking.
