All 50 seat flying is dead in the water. Period. Republic and Skywest will suck the life out of Expressjet, the monster is the mainline narrow body flying that is really going to put a lot of pilots on the street. Expressjet is not meant to have any future via Skywest. Expressjet has ZERO!!!! Toast!!!!! Step off the Titanic. Gracefully.

Yea, 50 seater flying will eventually be dead, but not yet. I also doubt anybody will be "out on the street" as the shrinking of the 50's will take a while and in the mean time legacy's hiring will ramp up. Also, as the CR2 goes out the EMB 175's that are on order will fill in. ExpressJet has the most to lose I think as they are relatively high paid (compared to PNCL/RJET/etc), so I'd think pay raises are going to be tough to come by. In the next few years I dont think XJT or really any big player will be a bad place to be, get your time, and move on. Back to the old days before the massive stagnation and waiting for retirements (unless they raise the age again, but even then, not all will even physically make it, or even want to..).

Yes to both questions.

That guy you quoted is a clueless troll. He was anti-SKW last year and now he is a cheerleader for them?!? Telling people to short at $6 a share and other non-sense.

There will always be a spot for a handful of 50 seaters in every major airlines route network. I completely agree that things are changing in this industry but every regional is in the same boat. There isn't a regional that I would choose to be at over another right now because you don't know what will happen. The attrition is already about half of what it was during the last hiring wave and the expected drop in hiring for the summer hasn't materialized yet. It is never as bad or as good as the opinions on here but we wont be able to staff this place if they don't start parking planes.

The additional cost of "good" regional pilot pay vs "bad" regional pay isn't enough to put a company out of contention for contracts. The math doesn't support the rubbish that our management puts out. The fear mongering over a few million in pilot costs for a company the size of Skywest is just a management tactic. The day when management says we are underpaid is just never going to happen so why are we surprised that we are "overpaid." We might be more expensive in compensation compared to Pinnacle but our hourly operating costs are competitive. We can support two management teams in Georgia and Utah but we can't afford to pay the pilots? Sorry not buying it.

I do not think so. If they where why would the company says they are trying to flying for them.

No. Those are PNCL a/c not current a/c.
If I recall correctly Inc had to give back 66 50s in exchange for 34 large RJs. Of those 66, 42 were owned by Delta and would be returned to them, so that leaves 24 Inc owned 50. I believe all 24 of those Inc owned 50s are in service with AMR.

I do hope you're right though. I'm sure it's fairly easy for DAL to transfer the lease on the 50s to Inc if both parties agree.

Does anyone actually KNOW who owns these aircraft? And does the agreement say they go to the desert, or does it say they come off contract for Delta? There's a big difference.

Since I know who both Bozo and 777 Forever are, and know both of their their level of connection with the union and management, I'm going to give the credibility award to Bozo.

I'm not perfect. I'm just repeating info that seems to come from a reliable source.

Unless we added more planes that I didn't hear about, there is only 14 planes in AMR operation.
