After 7 yrs in the right seat I really wish I would have gotten out of this industry for the downturn and came back to aviation in the coming year. I work on the side and could have made substantially more outside of this industry rather than continually telling myself that the upside to this career is right around the corner. Hindsight is 20-20 but I think that any play you make that pits you at home every night is going to be hard to regret in 10 yrs.
Thanks! I completely agree. I didn't want to end up stuck in that dead zone as a perpetual FO. More importantly, I'm getting married and getting my finances in order became a high priority, something that would be nearly impossible to do on an FO salary. Only downside is that I'm getting turbine time at a very slow rate, but I am also getting some PIC time. So we will see what happens.

I'm just curious because my good friend's wife has nearly seven full years on the legacy ASA side in Atlanta and is barely over halfway up the FO seniority list.
That's rather exaggerated. I have 6.5 years under my belt and I'm about 40 seniority numbers from holding captain, and I'm well above being 50% in my seat.

If you aren't on the freeze list you can bid down from CR7 to CR2, but you'll then be frozen for 24 months.

Not frozen unless the differences training lasts more than 5 days...

False. Bid into a pay cut and you incur a 24 month freeze; see 24.G.6.e. The clause you are referring to only applies to the 18 month freeze in 24.G.6.a.

I'm pretty sure she is still on the -200, but I don't know why that would make a difference. I'll double check and see if things have changed.

Hi,

Is this a fact? If so, starting when?

This is great news for someone interviewing and wanting to stay close to west!

Thanks
