Denied open time swaps for insufficient reserve coverage. So I decided to pop a call into scheduling for the hell of it, and they said "we need __ amount of people that day but we don't have that."

My reply was "So what you're telling me, is that we're understaffed?"

And they say "nope, I'm not saying that."

So what is it? If we don't have the required reserve levels, then we must have extra pilots...?

Sounds like the same story at Eagle. I am sure the folks at other would chime in with similar stories.

I agree, but its just funny because I'm swapping the same amount of days on the same days. So I'm trying to swap say a 2 day trip on the 3rd-4th for another 2 day trip on the 3rd-4th, but they don't have the coverage to cover it.

Oh man....they are denying same day swaps for not enough reserve coverage!? Haha this place keeps getting better and better

You shouldn't have to call for that? Are you on the CRJ or ERJ? Even if you had to call they can't deny it

CRJ. They are claiming that they need a minimum of 8 people on that day, but they only have 6. So all swaps on those days get denied and they have no control over it.

I was too lazy to look up the old version, but the new doesn't sound much different. What changed? And yes, what a coincidence this comes right before our worst summer ever.
