Yes. They were trying to sell a pay freeze (and it worked.) Could be trying to do the same thing at Expressjet.

If they were showing it off for management, they should have gone to SGU, where those decisions are made. The fact that they brought it to ATL tells me they were showcasing it to the employees. "Take a big enough pay cut, and this big shiny jet could be yours. Refuse, and someone else will get it. Hurry!"

I hope nobody is buying it. Decisions like this are made years in advance, regardless of employee actions. If it's coming, it's coming, if it's not, it's not.

I hope I am not wrong in believing that "most" of our pilot group will not fall for it but you know there is always a few who would love the opportunity to fly this.

That few appears at least from my experiences to be "quite a few". In the jump-seat headed up north one night a moderately senior captain says " If this company purchased 737's and wanted to pay me $1 an hour more I'd do it in a heartbeat! Because #1 is all that matters, and I'm #1. Just looking out for myself." The fairly junior F.O. found this to be a really good philosophy and continued to kiss the guy's a**. Take it for what it's worth but I couldn't tell it any more accurately. And I've heard and seen similar things on several occasions.

This seems to coincide with the folks that say "hey did you hear? We're getting more 90 seaters!" Um, didn't even know we had "90 seaters". Never mind more, but ok.......

When you add up the 20 year+ lifers who will do anything to keep this place afloat, and all the FOs who will do anything to upgrade (get their PIC time and get out), I give us a 50-50 chance.

Don't really need PiC time anymore to get out.
